Continue ReadingThe list of elite level prospects from southeastern Pennsylvania (and beyond) have transferred high schools continues to grow as classes begin here in September as prospects officially attend classes at a new school. Since our last installment of the Transfer Watch 2021 series, several more exceptionally talented area prospects have jumped to a different school for the 2021-22 academic year.
Among those highlighted in our eleventh review of transfers for 2021 is a 3A 1st Team All-State prospect who is exiting Pennsylvania and a 2020-21 Mr. Basketball nominee who is changing schools.
Sultan Adewale – 6’8” / Junior / Neumann-Goretti / Small Forward: The closure of St. Louis Christian Academy (MO) sent Adwewal to Philadelphia and the Saints were more than happy to add this long and versatile forward to their roster. They are getting a tremendous athlete who glides up and down the court, can score the rock and does a nice job of passing out of double teams. Additionally, Adewale has international playing experience. Adewale is native of Great Britain and played on Great Britain’s U16 team in the 2019 Euro Championships during which he averaged 13 points and 10.6 rebounds per game. Last season St. Louis Christian Academy competed on the highly competitive Grind Session Circuit and Adewale posted as season high 29 points (along with 9 rebs) vs. US Basketball (OR). Adewale currently holds offers from Washington, Memphis, Ole Miss and DePaul. The rumor mill says that Villanova has also expressed serious interest.
Kenyon Elliott – 6’3” / Senior / Vision Academy (NY) / Combo Guard: During his junior campaign, Elliott was starter who averaged 15 points per game for a Bishop McDevitt (Harrisburg, PA) squad that went 24-5 and lost in the District 3 championship game. The Covid-19 Pandemic and then an ankle injury robbed Elliott of nearly all his senior season. So, Elliott is transferring and reclassing into the 2022 grad year. When he is on the court, Elliott’s slick handles and blow by speed allow him to get to the rim in transition or in the half-court. Once there, Elliott can score the ball with either hand. Additionally, he is a decent three-point shooter. Still, it’s Elliott’s versatility that grabs the attention of college coaches and scouts. He is an excellent rebounding guard; a wonderful distributor with great court vision; and he is a menace of an on-ball defender. Elliott plays for Team PA on grassroots scene and already holds several DI offers.
Earle Greer, Jr. – 6’5” / Senior / Rocktop Academy / Combo Guard: Greer is a 6’5” combo guard who averaged 16 points as well as 9 rebounds per game last season for Delaware County Christian (PA) and was the 2020-21 Bicentennial League MVP. After last season he was also a nominee for Pennsylvania’s Mr. Basketball award. Greer is a long and bouncy prospect who when has the ball can score at all 3-levels. As a bonus, he moves very well without the rock which makes Greer extremely difficult to guard because Greer is a fantastic catch and shoot player. However, once Greer receives a pass, he will not hesitate to pump fake and then put the ball on the deck to get to the mid-range or the all the way to the cup. In short, Greer is a prospect we will be watching closely this fall/winter. The scary part is he is just scratching the surface of his potential. In the spring/summer Greer runs with BW Elite.
Jevin Muniz – 6’5’’/ Senior / Believe Prep (SC) / Wing: The former Executive Education Charter wing player with elite shooting skills is headed to South Carolina for a prep year. In addition to knocking down threes, Muniz can get out in transition for buckets and boasts solid enough handles that he frequently plays a point-forward role for Philly Pride this summer. Muniz scored 1,512 points in his career and this winter led the Raptors to their third straight District 11 championship as well as to PIAA 3A state quarterfinals. Muniz (1st Team 3A All-State) senior year highlights are simply ridiculous: 33 points in a victory over Notre Dame-Green Pond; 28 points in D11-3A title game win; a 26/9/6 stat line in win over Nativity; and a 24-point effort that included five 3-pointers in a PIAA state tourney quarterfinal loss to Loyalsock. This past spring/summer Muniz palyed with Philly Pride.
