Who are the top junior power forwards and centers in the state’s 2023 class?  We examine that here!

Javonte Taylor Javonte Taylor 6'7" | PF Kenwood | 2023 State #4 Nation IL (Kenwood)

Current Ranking: #1

Easy call at #1 overall as he is probably the best prospect regardless of class in the state.  Taylor is a combo forward that is absolutely electric as a three level scorer.  Feathery jumper that reminds many of a certain Brooklyn Nets star.  Can go around defenders where he finishes with monster dunks at the cup.  When locked in he impacts defensively with his length and athleticism around the rim and on the perimeter.  One of the top prospects from Illinois in recent memory.

Davius Loury Davius Loury 6'7" | PF Kenwood | 2023 State #145 Nation IL (Kenwood)

Current Ranking: #5

Loury is a power forward from Kenwood that sometimes gets caught in Taylor’s shadow, but he is a high-major prospect in his own right.  When he is at his best Loury is playing with a high motor making plays as an inside/outside threat.  Capable of knocking down shots, winning on drives, pounding opponents in the post, and rebounding.

Owen Freeman Owen Freeman 6'10" | C Bradley Bourbonnais | 2023 State #169 Nation IL (Bradley Bourbonnais)

Current Ranking: #6

Freeman ranks as the top center in the class.  What stands out
