Continue ReadingWith the new rankings update finally being published, a few players need to be highlighted that bring a lot of energy into any gym where they play night in and night out. The rankings are full of quality players at all positions and many of these players are looking to use the 2021-22 season as a way to showcase their talent in order to play at the college level, earn all-conference honors, snag a starting position, or even make the varsity squad for the first time. Regardless of class or school, these players are ready to make a big splash during the next season.
2022 – Joe Reiber Joe Reiber 6'2" | SG Melba | 2022 State ID , Melba: It seems that Melba always has a player or two who can absolutely score with the best of them. Reiber is no exception and he has already shown that he can get hot in a hurry from anywhere in the gym. In all honesty, I would probably let him shoot from the parking lot and I would still expect the ball to go through the basket. Joe is a very talented scorer who can shoot really well from deep, but also has the skill and strength to drive to the basket where he can dish the ball out, or score at the rim.
2023 – Blake Buchanan Blake Buchanan 6'10" | PF Lake City | 2023 State #172 Nation ID , Lake City: Lake City gets to return the majority of their squad after taking home a second place finish during the state tournament last season. Buchanan is one of the best players in the state at any level and he has proven his ability to improve his game during each and every offseason. Blake is a great big man who can also stretch the floor in order to hit a three-pointer, or he can use guard skills to bully his way to the basket for an easy finish through contact. Watch for another great season of play from Buchanan.
2024 – Gatlin Bair Gatlin Bair 6'2" | CG Burley | 2024 State ID , Kimberly: Bair is one of the most exciting players from the class of 2024 and he has already received nods with an all-conference mention early on in his prep basketball career. Bair has great size for his age and he plays with confidence like an upperclassmen at all times. Gatlin can score at all three levels and he always does a great job of carrying his team when they need it most. Watch for Gatlin to have an excellent prep career for the next few seasons.
