Conference Commentary
Top Ten in State: Central Minnesota Christian
CMC will enter the season as a top ten team after making the state tournament last year and returning three of their top four players. Case Mulder Case Mulder 5'10" | PG Central Minnesota Christian | 2022 State MN is an All State level guard leading the way.
Top Ten in State Potential: Lac qui Parle Valley, RTR, TMB
LQPV has three starters back and a couple reserves. Point guard Landon Schirm leads the way while Hunter Conn has good size up front at 6’6. If things break right LQPV could be a top ten team. TMB brings back their entire team, they have size, skill, workers, and a big number producing star in Tony Nelson Tony Nelson 6'6" | C TMB | 2022 State MN . They will contend and maybe even work towards the top ten, but they were only 10-9 last year so as a unit improvements are needed.
Compete with Most: Renville County West, KMS, Minneota, Lakeview
Renville County West is a curious group. They graduated a nice senior core but Tyler Froland looks poised for a breakout season keeping them just above .500. KMS has two of their best guys back and three starters returning. They should improve but how much is the question? As for the Minneota Vikings, they were a defensive machine last year and have two starters returning. They will be solid but not quite as good. Lakeview has a star in Nathan Fenske Nathan Fenske 6'2" | SG Lakeview | 2023 State MN which should make them a much better team and maybe a contender.
Rebuilding: Dawson-Boyd, MACCRAY, Canby, Yellow Medicine East
Dawson-Boyd will take a step forward although next year is likely the big season they are shooting for. They won only four games last season but Keegan Wicht is very good. MACCRAY was a .500 league team last year but they were senior heavy and have a lot of bodies to replace. Canby was 3-14 last year and lost their best player.
