Let’s go right into it…
Jupiter Christian: (Last season 11-7)
The Eagles will be a different team in 2021. Gone are RJ Morris RJ Morris 6'0" | CG Jupiter Christian | 2021 State FL and 2022 Conner Weston Conner Weston 6'7" | SF Jupiter | 2022 State FL to Jupiter. One player to watch is dual-sport 2023 Jeremiah Augustin Jeremiah Augustin 6'5" | SF Jupiter Christian | 2023 FL . The 6-foot-6 forward averaged 8.7 points and 6.5 rebounds per game as a sophomore. Moreover, 45 of his 97 rebounds came on the offensive end. I would expect more production from him this season. The same could be said about 2023 Jermaine Hunter Jermaine Hunter 5'10" | PG Jupiter Christian | 2023 FL . The 5-foot-10 guard had 105 assists last season. He should be more of an offensive weapon this season.Hunter registered two double-figure outputs as a sophomore. 2023 Jackson Baer showed some flashes as a shooter. The 6-foot guard scored a season-high 15 points against Grandview Prep. Note: Baer is now at Jupiter. Check him out this season with the Warriors.
St. John Paul II Academy: (Last season: 9-6)
The Eagles lose talented point guard Matt Ansah Matt Ansah 5'11" | CG Boca Raton St. John Paul II | 2021 State FL to graduation. The 6-foot-1 Ansah averaged 12.5 points per game and is a freshman at Assumption College. 2023 shooting guard Kyle Edison is back after averaging 14.5 points, 4.7 rebounds and 2.7 steals per game while shooting 41 percent from the field. Edison has good size at 6-foot-3 and played well against top competition last season. Against North Broward Prep, he scored 24 points on 10-of-21 from the field. I would like to see him improve as a 3-point shooter. While he had some great games, Edison shot 20 percent overall. 2023 shooting guard Brian Wright (10.8 ppg) is another kid to watch. Wright did shoot the ball well from the perimeter. SJP has a backcourt to work with.
Trinity Christian Academy: (Last season: 9-9)
The Warriors will look to replace 2021 Tristan Gee Tristan Gee 6'5" | SF Lake Worth Trinity Christian | 2021 State FL (23.7 ppg) who moved on to Columbia International University. 2021 Jaiden Santiago (6.8 ppg) also signed with Webber. I am looking at 2025 Carter Kuzmin as a player to watch. The 6-foot-2 forward played in fourteen games and totaled 51 points and 55 rebounds as an eight grader. Along with Kuzmin, Trinity Christian Academy has a lot of young players on its roster from last season. Let’s see how these kids develop.
The King’s Academy: (Last season: 18-3)
It’s fair to wonder how the Lions are going to be with 2021 Johnathan Joseph and 2023 Zakaih Saez (St. Thomas Aquinas) gone. King’s Academy also lost a host of other seniors listed on its roster. What’s the word on 2022 Chris Cochran? He is 6-foot-7 and also appears to play baseball. 2022 Logan Knight Logan Knight 6'10" | C Kings Academy | 2022 FL is also listed at 6-foot-10. Both kids certainly have the frame to work with.
Grandview Prep: (Last season: 16-3)
Fair to speculate how the Pride will be after reaching the Class 2A final four. Grandview Prep lost three players that were named either first or second team all-county. Gunner Walters? If he is with the Pride, they got a good player returning. Walters averaged nearly 18 points per game as a junior. 2022 Riley Berg is another player to watch. He scored in double-figures six times last season.
