The league features 22 JV and Varsity teams from around the Las Vegas area. With this being the first taste of high school action in over a year, it offered an opportunity to evaluate a ton of local players under one roof. In this article, we take a look at some of the standouts from week 2. (All Fall League Games are Live Streamed and Recorded on the 7outz Channel)
CJ Smith PG Palo Verde 2022 – Sharpshooter kept his Palo squad in the game with his shooting. The PG banged down several high arching treys, helping PV escape with a sudden death victory.
Christian Martin Christian Martin 6'2" | SG Sierra Vista | 2022 State NV 6’3 SG Sierra Vista 2022 (#59PHN 2022) – Martin is starting to make moves in my stock riser category. He has good size to go along with a nice skillset. What I loved about him today, was his willingness to make the right play, his slashing, and his talent. On several occasions, Martin was simply better than his opponent, going high for a rebound or finishing through contact.
Antonio Burns Antonio Burns 5'10" | PG Legacy | 2025 State NV 5’9 PG Legacy 2025 – Been looking for Burns, glad I found him. Burns was one of the most entertaining middle schoolers I covered and showed he can produce against Varsity competition today. He displayed a throwback game, piling up points in the paint. The lefty is shifty and was able to consistently beat his initial defender. He finished with 26 in a hard-fought game against Sierra Vista.
Alijah Adem Alijah Adem 6'2" | PG Spring Valley | 2024 State #174 Nation NV 6’1 PG Spring Valley 2024 (#8PHN 2024) (featured image) – It was another strong performance from the rising sophomore. In addition to setting up teammates, Adem buried 4 Trey’s helping the Grizzlies to a 79-57 victory. A natural winner, he demoralized with several run-stopping buckets. His handle, wiggle, and footwork, were on full display as he continually got to the rack and the line.
Chase Jackson Chase Jackson 6'8" | C Centennial | 2023 State NV 6’8 C Centennial 2023 (#12PHN 2023) – It was a nice offensive day for Jackson. He finished with 14 but it was how he got them that was impressive. The 5 man showed range out to 17, knocking down several jumpers, helping the Bulldogs to a 49 – 39 win.
Dontrell Johnson Dontrell Johnson 6'5" | SF Trinity | 2022 State NV 6’5 SG Bonanza 2022 (#7PHN 2022) – Have to love the continued improvement Johnson has shown. He went from a player that struggled to shoot to a knock-down 3 point shooter. Johnson helped the tigers in a competitive game against Durango, finishing with 26 to lead all scorers.
Leyton Barr Leyton Barr 5'10" | SG Faith Lutheran | 2023 State NV 6’2 SG Faith Lutheran 2023 (#25PHN 2023) – Hot shooting day for Barr. The sharpshooter from Faith, was accurate burying 5 treys on the day. Did a terrific job of shot prep, having his hands and feet ready knocking down shots in catch and shoot.
