However, that doesn’t mean that coverage stops here at Prep Hoops Indiana. Over the next couple of weeks we will take a closer look at prospects in the Class of 2022 with our Senior Spotlight series.
Rynell Echols Rynell Echols 6'2" | SG Franklin Central | 2022 State IN (Franklin Central H.S. 2022)
This is one of my favorite under-the-radar prospects in Indiana’s Class of 2022 right now. Echols, who made his rankings debut at #86 overall, is a long and super athletic 6’2″ guard with a lot of potential. He played with a talented Gym Rats Black team over the summer that was full of some of the better small college prospects in the state. Expects Echols to experience a breakout senior season playing alongside one of Indiana’s best 2024 prospects Lyna Brooks Lyna Brooks 6'3" | CG Saginaw Arthur Hill | 2024 State MI . Echols would be a great addition to high-level DIII prospects and could begin to generate some scholarship buzz as well.
Adonis House Adonis House 6'7" | PF Liberty Christian | 2022 State IN (Liberty Christian H.S. 2022)
If Echols is a personal favorite under-the-radar 2022 prospect as a guard, then House is probably my favorite front court piece right now. The 6’7″ forward did just pick up a pair of Division III opportunities from two of the state’s premier schools, Wabash College and Hanover College. Anderson University is in the mix as well. House projects as an impact DIII big man with his excellent footwork and ability to dominate the glass on both ends of the floor. He is a finisher with both hands around the basket with quick feet on his post moves. Should put together a dominate high school season. Small colleges that aren’t involved yet need to make the call quickly.
Ashton Johnson Ashton Johnson 6'2" | PG Fort Wayne South | 2022 State IN (Fort Wayne South H.S. 2022)
A stocky, bigger guard from Fort Wayne South High School, Johnson impressed over the summer and showed that he is one of the best small college point guard prospects out there. Manchester University is heavily involved with the local prospect and Johnson visited there back in July. At 6’2″ he has the size and strength to dominate smaller defenders on his way to the basket. He has a nice mid-range game and finishes in a variety of creative ways once he gets all the way to the rim. Potential plug-and-play guy in the backcourt at the next level.
