After a year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the annual Ryse Up Fall Classic was back this past weekend on Sept. 25 and 26. The event took place at two different locations: St John Bosco High School and St Monica High School. The event featured some of the top HS teams in the SoCal area. I was able to attend both days, and here’s a quick look at some additional top standouts.

1. Vincent Sampson - Loyola 2022

Sampson was a bit of an undersized forward, but that’s no matter. He plays much bigger than his size and is incredibly strong. He uses his strength to finish in the paint. He can power through the defense and he has good body control. He can play with his back to the basket or he can face up from the midpost area and make a quick move to the rim. Does a good job drawing contact and getting to the free throw line.

2. Landon Lewis Landon Lewis 6'6" | PF Harvard-Westlake | 2022 State - Harvard Westlake 2022

A Brown commit, Lewis is a handful in the paint. He’s a good rebounder especially on the offensive glass keeping the ball alive and gaining extra possessions. Defensively, he
