Most notably, Connor Essegian Connor Essegian 6'4" | SG Central Noble | 2022 State #170 Nation IN (Central Noble H.S. 2022) made his college commitment at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday evening in his high school gymnasium. The 6’4″ sharpshooter chose the Wisconsin Badgers over Minnesota, Butler, Purdue Fort Wayne, Loyola, Creighton, and Wake Forest. Essegian averaged 24 points, 6.6 rebounds, and 3.7 assists as a junior at Central Noble. He is already the school’s all-time leading scorer as well with 1705 points. He will spend much of his senior season climbing the state’s all-time scoring list. Ranked as a 3-star shooting guard by 247Sports, Essegian is ranked #7 in the Class of 2022 by Prep Hoops Indiana.
Heading into the month of June, Essegian held just four offers. By the time the recruiting calendar ended in July he had accumulated 25+ scholarship offers. The rise in recruitment also saw the high-majors come calling. He took an official visit to Wake Forest the last weekend in August and followed it up with his official visit to Wisconsin. At that point, his commitment date was announced which certainly led many to speculate that things were looking good for the Badgers.
Not to be out done by his teammate, Logan Gard Logan Gard 6'6" | PF Central Noble | 2022 State IN (Central Noble H.S. 2022) slid in his college choice a day earlier on Tuesday night. The 6’6″ power forward, who is ranked #135 in the class of Prep Hoops Indiana, chose to further his academic and athletic career at Trine. He is a mobile, high-upside post that should develop into a nice player for the DIII program that is consistently competing at the top of the MIAA.
