Being the only senior for Kevin Jones’ bunch, he will be asked to do a lot but he is looking forward to the opportunity.
“It feels great being back out here with the team and being able to run with the guys. I am really looking forward to the season with this group. We have a lot of young talent that is going to help us a lot.”
Troutman got his first real taste of the EYBL this summer and really enjoyed his experience playing with some of the best players from around the country.
“It was good. It was my first real time on the EYBL and it was really cool being at Peach Jam. I got to experience playing with some of the best people in the country and overall it was just a great experience.”
Troutman has taken two official visits so far to Miami (Ohio) and Northeastern and he had both head coaches from those schools in to watch him yesterday at a St. Andrew’s open gym. He broke down both of those schools with Prep Hoops.
Miami (Ohio): “They have been on me for a while and I really like the coach there. This will be his fifth year there this upcoming season and he has done a good job with that program as they play in a good conference. He keeps saying that I would be a big part of the system. I met the team on my official visit there and they are a great group.”
Northeastern: “They are saying that I would be a big contributor. I went on my official visit there with Jared Turner Jared Turner 6'8" | SF Gonzaga | 2022 State MD who just committed there and they said we could be a great duo. They have a really good coach who has been there for a while so he has a really good established system there and they think I would be comfortable in that system.”
When asked about when a possible decision could be made, Troutman said, “I can see myself making a decision in the next two weeks.”
