I got a hands-on look at all of these high-level athletes. Look for their stock to continue to rise after some very impressive performances!
Skyler LeDoux Skyler LeDoux 6'3" | CG Zachary | 2024 State LA 2024 Zachary High School 6’3
Skyler is a dynamic wing who is great on both ends of the floor. He plays with high energy and attacks the glass very well for his size. He is good at timing his putback attempts and he is a strong leaper, even after multiple jumps underneath the basket. He is also a great ball-handler and playmaker; he made great passes through tight angles and even displayed some impressive cross-court passes that punished the defense for collapsing in on him. I would like to see him work on his shot off the dribble, especially in the midrange. If he can become more comfortable as a scorer in the second and third levels, his potential is through the roof.
Jamarion Thomas Jamarion Thomas 6'0" | PG Live Oak | 2024 State LA 2024- Live Oak High School 6’0
Jamarion is a high-level shooter with great potential. His ability to get his shot off over intense on-ball defense was very impressive. He is an agile playmaker with the ability to wiggle around defenders and get to the rim. He is great at going downhill and putting pressure on the defense at the rim. He is not scared of bigger defenders in the paint either, he is patient and methodical with his head fakes and ability to hang in the air around defenders.
Michael Mouton Michael Mouton 6'5" | SG St. Thomas More | 2024 State LA 2024- St. Thomas More High School, Lafayette 6’2
Michael is a skilled guard who thrives at putting pressure on the defense with his handle and ability to break down defenders. He has a very quick crossover, and he is a very smart player with a live dribble. He has a good floater that he gets to in the paint. He is a good shooter off the catch and has a real ability to space the floor and be a weapon through that. I would like to see him work on his ability to get to his spots in the midrange and beyond the arc with a live dribble.
Rondae Hill Rondae Hill 6'0" | PG Calvary Baptist | 2024 State LA 2024- Calvary Baptist Academy High School
Rondae is a strong guard who knows how to use his frame to the best of his ability. He is a smart player in the full court, he has a Chris Paul-like ability to draw contact. I was impressed by his on-court awareness on both ends of the floor, especially when leading the break. I would like to see him work on his shot off the bounce, as well as work to get more spots that he is comfortable within the midrange. He is a very aware player which helps him as an on-ball defender as well.
Konnor Cotton Konnor Cotton 6'1" | CG Calvary Baptist | 2024 State LA 2024- Calvary Baptist Academy
Konnor is an intelligent defender who does not bit on fakes and has active hands that have a knack of poking the ball loose. He annoyed plenty of older guards this weekend who were annoyed by his consistent energy and ability to defend. He has a nice-looking shot off the dribble from three and the midrange. He is smooth and confident in his long-range jumper and recognizes when the defense is playing too hard upon him to get to his spots in the midrange. I would like to see him work on his ability to get into the paint and finish strong and work on forcing a second defender to come over. He has the awareness and ability to move the ball around and make the right reads.
Justin “JD” Dejoie 2024- De LA Salle High School 6’2
JD is an impressive force at driving to the hole, he has great end to end speed with a real ability to finish in the paint. His aggressiveness and ability to put pressure on bigs created opportunities for his teammates and put the other teams bigs in foul trouble. He is a reliable shooter if he can get his feet set. He is a hardworking guard on the defensive end, it seems like he really takes pride on this side of the ball. I would like to see him work on his shot off the dribble and pull up. He puts a ton of force and pressure on the defense already, the opportunities will open for him once he begins to space the floor better off the bounce.
