I got a hands-on look at all of these high-level athletes. Look for their stock to continue to rise after some very impressive performances!
Troy Cole Troy Cole 6'5" | SG Donaldsonville | 2022 State LA Jr 2022- Donaldsonville High School 6’4
Troy was one of the best two-way shooting guards in attendance. He has great energy and is a smart and hardworking defender. His work on the defensive end stood out, trapping the ball at the right time, and forcing turnovers with ease. He is aggressive when he drives with the basketball and is not afraid to punish defenders who jump with him. He had big-time dunks and put fear in defenders when they attempted to defend him at the rim. He possesses great leaping ability and has great strength on his frame. He possesses a good jump shot from outside off the catch, but I would like to see him work on his pull-up game in the midrange.
Jordan DeCuir Jordan DeCuir 6'3" | CG Zachary | 2022 State LA 2022- Zachary High School 6’2
Jordan is a freak athlete with an impressive frame, I was blown away by his ability to move up and down the court and throw down on anyone he wants. He even displayed a drop step dunk that got the whole gym out of their seats. His ability to attack the rim and finish with anyone is second to none, he displays the frame and athletic ability to walk into most college programs and be ready to finish at the rim. To continue his growth, I would like to see him work on his pull-up game and ability to score in the midrange. He is so polished as a finisher already; he needs to work on his ability to score in the second level to become an even more dynamic player. He is a capable shooter off the catch, but he will be a deadly weapon if he can unlock all three levels of offense.
Varnavous Narcisse Varnavous Narcisse 6'0" | CG Carencro | 2022 State LA 2022- Carencro High School 6’1
Varnavous is an incredible finisher at the guard position. He has a great frame; he plays with incredible pace and uses that to his advantage. When attacking the rim, he can avoid contact and contort his body around defenders at the last second. He is also very aware of his limits in the air and makes the right reads against bigs by dumping it off to a teammate with a better shot around the rim. I love his ability to defend high-level guards as well, he possesses active hands that have a knack for causing turnovers.
Jamari Markray Jamari Markray 6'2" | SG Doyline | 2022 State LA 2022- Doyline High School 6’2
Jamari is a smooth crafty guard with a tight handle and a high level to beat defenders off the dribble. I love his ability to get around defenders and finish around the rim. He is crafty and patient underneath the rim. He displayed some nasty layup packages as well, finishing on either side of the rim with ease. I would like for him to work on his ability to create for his teammates when he attacks the rim, he had a few plays where he could have made the extra pass to set up his shooters on the outside.
Reginald Stoner Reginald Stoner 6'1" | CG North Central | 2022 State LA 2022- North Central High School
Reginald is an aggressive guard who is great at finishing at the rim and has a soft floater that he loves to get to over the top of bigger defenders. He has active hands that allow him to be a threat on the defensive end of the floor. He is a smart player who thrives at attacking the passing lanes and creating turnovers. On offense, he is a very skilled drive and kick player. He is great at running the floor and putting pressure on the defense by driving into the teeth of the defense. I would like to see him work on his jumper from the outside and midrange off the bounce, he already has a good touch on his floater so that should not be too hard to incorporate into his game to take it to the next level.
