I got a hands-on look at all of these high-level athletes. Look for their stock to continue to rise after some very impressive performances!
Noah Jonker Noah Jonker 6'5" | PF Alexandria | 2022 State LA 2022- Alexandria Senior High School
Noah is an elite offensive weapon. He is the ideal stretch four with all the tools to translate to the next level. He is a knockdown shooter off the catch and his long arms allow him to shoot over nearly anyone. He is comfortable all over the floor, during warmups I watched him knock down 9 straight shots from all around the arc. Jonker looks like an undersized Domatas Sabonis, he is a comfortable playmaker with the basketball with the ability to initiate offense. He is an elite weapon as a stretch shooter in the pick and pop and can make the right reads when the defense is confused in those opportunities. I was blown away by his polished nature to the game.
Collin Coates Collin Coates 6'5" | SF University Lab | 2022 State LA 2022- Runnels High School
Colin is an athletic wing/ forward who has the ability to dominate the ball and make all of the right reads. He is an incredible decision-maker in both the half court and the full court. On the break, he can easily go coast to coast with the ball and finish at the rim, but also dish out the right read to the collapsing defense. Down low, he is a patient scorer in the post who does not force himself into contested looks at the rim to often. On the defensive side of the ball, he is a high-level defender who knows how to wreak havoc with his positioning and energy. He is an incredibly smart defender out of the pick and roll and rebounds the ball at a high level on both ends.
Joseph Wiltz 2022- Cecilia High School
Joseph is a dominant forward who punishes opponents on both ends of the floor. His size and frame allow him to finish at the rim with ease. He has strong hands down low and can power through undersized defenders. I was very impressed with his awareness on the pick and roll, he displayed a great ability to know when to slip the screen, roll to the rim or pop out behind the arc. He is a capable shooter who can space the floor and affect the game from behind the arc as well. I also loved his willingness to attack on defense, he was an aggressive defender who seemed to take it personally when the other team scored in the paint. I would like to see him work on his ability to put the ball on the floor and dominate the mid-post and midrange.
Amare Anderson Amare Anderson 6'9" | PF Moravian Prep | 2022 State LA 2022- White Castle High School
Amare is an incredibly skilled offensive big. He has a very soft touch around the rim and can finish with either hand. He is a freak athlete with great foot speed and agility. He is already a very effective rim runner who is great at getting to the bucket. ON the defensive side of the ball, he takes pride in protecting the paint. He loves going for chase down and weakside blocks. He is also great at being patient and waiting for the opponent to get up the shot. His length and timing are second to none at this level. Anderson has all of the potential to become a high-level forward at the next level.
