Donovan Hunter Donovan Hunter 6'7" | PF Spire | 2023 State OH , 6’8 PF Westerville Central 2023: Hunter is the only 2023 prospect currently committed to a college program. Hunter recently announced his commitment to Missouri State. Hunter has some intriguing skills at 6’8 with his fluidity of movement and shot-making ability. Hunter will look to translate these skills to more production, he played a complimentary role next to a great senior class that made the state title game last season. Hunter will now be tasked with the main scoring responsibility during his Junior season.
Nelson Johnson Nelson Johnson 6'6" | PF Lutheran East | 2023 State OH , 6’6 PF Lutheran East 2023: Johnson is a freak athlete who has thrown down some of the most impressive poster dunks I’ve seen from an Ohio prospect in this class. He’s got all the physical upside you would want from a modern wing forward. Johnson is transferring to Lutheran East for his Junior season, it will be interesting to see if he blossoms into a Division I prospect under Sam Liggins.
Chase Garito Chase Garito 6'8" | C Brecksville-Broadview Heights | 2023 State OH , 6’8 PF Brecksville-Broadview Heights 2023: Garito is filled out from the shoulders and up, having a frame that’s able to move other forwards his age. Garito must improve his touch, because he’s able to create a lot of layup opportunities for himself. I think Brecksville-Broadview Heights could be a sleeper in NEO this season, but they will need Garito to progress offensively for that to happen. Garito also competed defensively very well against high level forwards with TNBA this spring.
Sam Walker Sam Walker 6'7" | PF West Carrollton | 2023 OH , 6’6 PF West Carrollton 2023: Walker is one of the most productive bigs in his class, averaging 13 PPG and 14 RPG as a Sophomore. These stats really jump off the page and made him a necessary target for me to watch this Spring. Playing on the Prep Hoops Circuit, I was able to watch Walker with INB Elite and his cast of talented Indiana based teammates. I like the motor that Walker plays with, going 100% every time he steps on the court. Walker seems like one of the more under the radar prospects from the Dayton area.
Kaleb Schaffer Kaleb Schaffer 6'5" | PF Bishop Ready | 2023 State OH , 6’5 PF Bishop Ready 2023: Schaffer is another one of my favorite under the radar guys that not many people know about outside of the Columbus area. Schaffer is very productive and just makes plays whenever he steps on the court. He fit in perfectly with Ohio United and had some huge games when I watched him. I project Schaffer to be one of the breakout players in Central Ohio this season. Scholarship programs will be fighting over Schaffer next summer.
