Lachlan Robert MacDonald Lachlan Robert MacDonald 6'1" | SG Dublin Jerome | 2023 State OH , 6’1 SG Dublin Jerome 2023: The first time I watched Macdonald, he knocked down six or seven 3-pointers, that performance got him on my radar. Since that game in early of his Sophomore season, he’s become more consistent in production and hit a nice growth spurt to get him above 6’ tall. Macdonald had an impressive summer playing for an Ohio United squad that small colleges will LOVE to watch next Spring/Summer.
DayJuan Anderson, 6’3 SG Ponitz 2023: Anderson has been one of the top guards in his class from the Dayton area for a while, jumping onto the scene as a Freshman. Anderson can do a variety of things on the court, but knocking down spot-up 3-pointers might be his specialty. It was his shooting and capable defense that allowed him to play a role for All Ohio Red 16U. Anderson was running with All Ohio Select 16U during the July live period, while I didn’t get to see him with that team, getting more playing time allows him to be seen by more college coaches.
Elias Lewis Elias Lewis 6'2" | SG Olentangy Orange | 2023 State OH , 6’2 SG Olentangy Orange 2023: Lewis is a guy I’m thinking has the chance to really break out as a Junior. He’s always been a solid shooter, really excelling with one or two dribble pull-up jumpers. I always felt like he’d benefit from more creation responsibility, and with Olentangy Orange graduating some of their leading scorers, he has the opportunity to prove what he’s capable of. Lewis is also improving on the defensive end, he’s always had the athleticism to make an impact. He’s starting to be in the right positions more often and this allows him to make more plays on that end. I’m very excited to continue to monitor the development of Lewis next season.
Donovan Mukes Donovan Mukes 6'2" | SG Moeller | 2023 State OH , 6’2 SG Moeller 2023: If there’s any 2023 prospect in the Cincy area flying under the radar more than Mukes, I’ve yet to find him. Playing behind one of the best senior classes I’ve seen in Ohio, Mukes is ready to take a starting role for Moeller this season. This is a prime example of a player waiting his turn, and I’m expecting Mukes to make some statements with his play this season. Those expecting Moeller to take a massive drop off might be disappointed once they see the young talent they have in their program.
Antaune Allen Antaune Allen 6'2" | CG Dunbar | 2023 State OH , 6’2 SG Dunbar 2023: Allen and his twin brother form a cool duo for Dunbar and Team Flyght. Both excel in transition and look to push the pace when they are on the floor. Antaune is very aggressive in getting to the rim on the offensive end, always looking to get a foot in the paint. I’d like to see him lower his turnovers and make a couple more outside shots, but his tenacity is a major positive. I think Dunbar could be a sleeper team in Division II in SW Ohio this season. They don’t come close to the big names they had in the early 2000’s, but I think they could win a lot of games this season.
