Continue ReadingShooting seems to be the most important skill in basketball and these players knocked shots down on Saturday. Whether it was form long distance or in the mid range these guys lit teams up for double figures. Below are guys with college ready shot preparation, dangerous pull ups, and dead eye shooting that even good closeouts couldn’t change.
Michael McLaughlin Michael McLaughlin 6'3" Clearwater | 2022 FL stretched out defenses with his shooting all day. The 6’3 guard has great shot preparation, moves well off the ball, and can catch fire in a hurry. He has the efficiency to go along with volume as he put up 5 three in 5 minutes, making two of them and every one that left his hands looked like it had a chance. The senior guard has a college ready frame and consistent range beyond the college three.
Mount Dora Christian Academy guard Kevin Frederick Kevin Frederick 6'5" | SF Mount Dora Christian Academy | 2023 State FL has prototypical size for the wing at 6’5. He knocked down a corner 3 before showing he could finish above the rim with a dunk off a drive. When he teams up with his twin Adam Frederick Adam Frederick 6'4" | C Mount Dora Christian Academy | 2023 FL , this fall expect the two to make noise in central Florida.
Jayden Williams Jayden Williams 6'6" | SG Windermere Prep | 2022 State FL had one of the best shooting games of the entire session. He made back-to-back wing threes before sinking another from the corner. The 6’5 guard found a mismatch in the high post, ending the duel with a turnaround jumper.
The first thing that caught my eye about Henry Hurst Jr. Henry Hurst Jr. 6'0" | CG East Lake | 2023 State FL was Oklahoma freshman guard CJ Noland-like build. The big body guard also has a burner for a jumpshot. He opened up his scoring day with back-to-back pull up threes.
Malik Raines Malik Raines 5'11" | PG Lake Mary | 2023 FL used his body to score. At a stocky 5’8 defenders bounced off him as he made his moves to the basket. His pull up jumper helped him score points in bunches as his team got to a sizable lead thanks to his 8-0 scoring run.
