Gavin Allen Gavin Allen 6'10" | C Lynn Camp | 2022 State KY (2022) 6’10 Lynn Camp
Allen was definitely the biggest guy in the gym for the Expo. Knows how to use that large frame and just tough on the interior. Soft touch around the rim and finished at a high level around traffic. Unselfish for a big and made some good passes to cutters out of the post. Overall a solid prospect for an in-state school looking for a big.
Zane Whitaker Zane Whitaker 6'6" | SF Magoffin County | 2024 State KY (2024) 6’5 Magoffin County
Whitaker is a younger prospect on this list, but performed at a high level that earns the spot here. Skinny but good length. Impressed me with his hustle on the defensive end and on the glass. Particularly impressed with a beautifully timed block off the backboard on a breakaway. As he fills his frame, could be a target for some D2/NAIA programs.
Devonte McCampbell Devonte McCampbell 6'5" | SF Daviess County | 2022 State KY (2022) 6’5 Daviess County
McCampbell wasn’t the biggest player on display for this event, but he had some of the better mechanics than other players on this list. Great body control under the rim. Utilized the pump fake and strong takes to create some offensive opportunities for himself. Moved well without the ball and made good cuts to the rim. Can bring some inside-out flare to the table.
Will Gibson Will Gibson 6'6" | C DeSales | 2024 State KY (2024) 6’5 DeSales
Gibson doesn’t look like a typical post yet, but the lefty has a lot of toughness that’s hard to match. Good length and footwork. Performed a nice 2K caliber spin move with the ball out on the perimeter. Showed confidence when he was outside the paint and just appears to be a prospect with upside as he too fills his frame.
Bul Chol (2022) 6’6 Fern Creek
Chol was the best performing prospect in terms of wings in the event. The 6-foot-6 senior is very long and an elite ball-handler. Unselfish and always looking to make the extra pass. Defensively understands the right shifts on man-to-man help side and communicates. Could be a target for D3s looking for a late 2022.
