I love watching guys that can be offensive playmakers in ways beyond just scoring. While some of these names can indeed fill up the stat sheet in points scored, others have team-first tendencies that make me feel confident in continued growth as they continue their high school careers.
Colton Rawlings Colton Rawlings 6'3" | CG South Laurel | 2025 State KY (2025) 6’1 North Laurel
Rawlings was one of the younger players competing on Saturday. Only a freshman but has a lot of good skills already in his young high school career. Very bouncy and good elevation. Shooting mechanics are clean and has a solid follow through. Definitely ahead of the curve in terms of where you’d expect a 2025 this early in the game.
Kirk Lemons Kirk Lemons 6'0" | SG CAL | 2023 State KY (2023) 6’0 Christian Academy of Louisville
Lemons brings intensity and toughness when he plays. Rebounded the ball exceptionally well for a 6’0 guard and had the determination to chase second chance opportunities. Comfortable and confident in the open court. Keeps his head on a swivel and connects with teammates. Great pass-first type of player that should continue to excel.
Austin Sperry Austin Sperry 6'3" | SG Breathitt County | 2025 State KY (2025) 6’3 Breathitt
Sperry was another freshman that just looked like a Varisty caliber player with his play. Shifty around the rim and confident attacking off penetration. Can finish with either hands and gets shots up over smaller defenders if held outside the lane. High motor kid that plays with a lot of intensity and hustle.
Marcus Eaves Marcus Eaves 6'4" | SF North Hopkins | 2023 State KY (2023) 6’3 Hopkins County Central
Eaves might have been the best scorer overall throughout the day. Good size for a guard. Blows by defenders with his quickness and acceleration into the 2nd level. When the defense started to collapse more, became a drive-and-kick player setting up shooters. Scores from all 3 levels and could be a target for some D2s.
Brett Decker Brett Decker 6'2" | PG Central Hardin | 2024 State #211 Nation KY (2024) 6’0 Central Hardin
Decker showed he could put the ball on the floor and create opportunities for himself off penetration. Handled the basketball with confidence. Created good shot opportunities for himself when the drive was taken away. Finished the ball around traffic.
