There were a lot of outstanding performances at the event and players in all grades and at all levels. Let’s look at some of the great performances in Session 2 of Flight Hankamp.
D’Angelo Fitzpatrick D’Angelo Fitzpatrick 6'5" | SF Haslett | 2023 State MI (2023, Haslett)
Fitzpatrick is a really high level and high upside prospect. In all honesty, I refuse to cap his potential because I could see him sliding in at the highest level. Fitzpatrick is bouncy under the rim and moves so fluidly on the court. His stroke looked confident and fluid at the event. Fitzpatrick looked like a player that’s ready to explode this high school season.
Cooper Fairman Cooper Fairman 6'3" | SF Saline | 2022 State MI (2022, Saline)
It’s really nice to see Fairman competing at such a high level again. I’ve been really high on him as a player and his upside as a prospect. He showed some range on his jumper at Flight Hankamp, as well as a nice step back jumper that we are sure to see again this coming high school season. Coaches at the next level, trust me, this is a player to monitor closely.
Colton Gowdy (2023, Jackson Northwest)
Gowdy was at Flight Hankamp to make a statement, and he did just that. He handled the ball with some flair but stayed smart with it. Gowdy can rock his defender with his handles, get them leaning, then fire off a step back jumper. The best thing is, he can use that step back from anywhere on the floor.
Xander Mielock (2023, East Lansing)
I was really glad that Mielock made another appearance at Flight Hankamp. This young man has a lot to offer. He plays bigger than his height and he has a good amount of physical strength. Mielock really looks like he could be that lockdown defender that coaches love. He’s a prospect that everyone, including coaches at the next level, need to keep an eye on.
Christian Zielinski (2023, Homeschooled)
This was my first time really seeing Zielinski play, and man was I impressed. He walked in the gym with a college build and strength. Zielinski moved well and maintained his energy throughout the session. He used his strength to stagnate his opponents on the defensive end as well. Zielinski was able to shrug off contact when going to the rim and finish through contact. In sum, he played like a next level prospect at Flight Hankamp.
