One of the elite point guards in the 2024 class is Isaac Asuma Isaac Asuma 6'3" | PG Cherry | 2024 State #102 Nation MN from Cherry. The 5’11/6’0 guard had an incredible freshman season and we look forward to seeing how he runs his team this weekend.
Casmir Chavis Casmir Chavis 6'2" | PG Park Center | 2024 State #170 Nation MN . One of the elite sophomores in Minnesota is Casmir Chavis Casmir Chavis 6'2" | PG Park Center | 2024 State #170 Nation MN of DeLaSalle. He’s got two years of experience at varsity already and now it’s time to see what kind of prospect he will truly develop into.
Daniel Freitag Daniel Freitag 6'1" | PG Breck | 2024 State #142 Nation MN . I’m guessing that since Daniel got hurt recently playing football we may not see him compete this weekend but Freitag is certainly in that conversation for top sophomore in the state.
When it comes to top 2024 prospects Osseo 6’6 wing Isaiah Johnson Isaiah Johnson 6'7" | SF Totino-Grace | 2024 State #135 Nation MN must be in the conversation. He is one of the 4-5 must see guys on my list this weekend as we try and figure out what his potential ceiling is.
Speaking of up and coming prospects, add the name of Kyle Jorgensen Kyle Jorgensen 6'9" | C Minneapolis Washburn | 2024 State #308 Nation MN to that list! The 6’8 frontcourt player from Minneapolis Washburn could have a big winter.
Teams need size and Jonathan Mekonnen of Eastview has that. Teams want size that moves well and Mekonnen certainly showed that with the Heat this summer. And of course teams want production and that is what we look forward to seeing from Mekonnen this weekend.
Lead guard Zy’lerre Stewart is a 5’11 lead guard from Totino-Grace. Stewart is tough, he’s quick, and he’s likely to make a nice impact off the bench for TG this winter.
A 2024 that we will have eyes on is Brody Wishart Brody Wishart 6'2" | SG Buffalo | 2024 State MN , a 6’2 guard from Buffalo that played well for D1 Minnesota this past summer.
Speaking of guards, 5’10 Max Woods Max Woods 5'11" | PG Chanhassen | 2024 State MN from Chanhassen is a must see player. We are anxious to see Woods go toe to toe at the expo with some of the best.
