Will Van Scoy Will Van Scoy 6'1" | PG Duluth East | 2022 State MN – 6’1″ guard- Duluth East 2022
Will had a very great day at the Expo. He was moving well without the ball and had a ton of timely cuts that either led to baskets or cleared up space for others. He did a good job of picking his spots and not needing the ball in his hands to score. He finished around the rim especially well and did a good job of shifting his body in the air for scores. He’s a good defender and he showed that he can play as either the point guard or as a shooting guard. I think he’ll have a good senior season if he can play as efficiently as he did.
Khalif Bettis Khalif Bettis 6'6" | SF Burnsville | 2023 State MN – 6’5″ wing- Burnsville 2023
Khalif had a very productive day of scoring the ball. He’s 6’5″ with long arms and good agility that he uses to blow past opponents. He showed great touch and the ability to be a three-level scorer. He’s very good at attacking downhill and getting into the paint, then his length and athleticism allow for him to elevate over defenders and knock down shots. He’s got a good handle and is confident in his ability to knock down shots off the dribble and in catch-and-shoot situations. His length makes him an able defender as well. If he continues to shoot the ball as well as he did, he’ll have plenty of attention on him this winter.
Jacob Butler Jacob Butler 6'3" | SF Minneapolis North | 2022 State MN – 6’5″ wing- Minneapolis North 2022
Jacob is such a fun guy to watch. He’s an extremely energetic player and he has supreme confidence in himself. His handle is super smooth and he has great footwork on the perimeter. His activity level is always great and he had tons of steals that resulted in fast breaks for his team. Ultimately, what he does well is shoot the ball. He has great balance and does not let a miss or two bother him. He can shoot off the catch or off the dribble and is comfortable shooting sides steps and step backs. He’s going to be a big part of North’s team this year because of his ability to shoot. I’m sure he’ll have plenty of college eyes on him as well.
Ansu Bojang Ansu Bojang 6'2" Eden Prairie | 2022 MN – 6’2″ guard- Eden Prairie 2022
Ansu had a solid showing this past weekend. He’s a pretty skilled wing that showed he was athletic enough to compete against high level players. He’s pretty crafty and picked his spots really well. I think my favorite thing about his play was how he was able to score and attack efficiently while not disrupting the flow of the game. He shot the ball well in every game I saw him play and he did a good job of mixing up his finishes when he attacked around the rim. If he can be comfortable handling the ball in pick-and-roll, I think he’ll have a successful senior season.
TimAvion Ryan– 6’4″ wing- Minneapolis North 2022
TimAvion is a crafty downhill player that can get to the rim and score at will. He’s a lefty and he likes to have the ball in hands. He’s got a good handle, though he dribbles a little low sometimes. His size is really useful when he gets to the rim as he can absorb bumps then finish strong. His size and frame allow for him to be a very versatile defender as he can stay in front of guards and be strong enough to defend wings and forwards. I think the big key for him is to develop more comfort with his jumpshot so that he can be confident and consistent when defenders start to take away the drive.
