Game 1
The MVP: Cody Pennebaker Cody Pennebaker 6'5" | SF Park Center | 2022 State MN of Park Center. Moving up the prospect list, a D1 talent.
Next Up: Yonis Mohamud Yonis Mohamud 6'2" | SG Shakopee | 2022 State MN of Shakopee. One of the stock risers in Minnesota.
Game 2
The MVP: Khalif Bettis Khalif Bettis 6'6" | SF Burnsville | 2023 State MN of Burnsville. There is more wing game to the Bettis game than we’ve seen before. Scholarship talent.
Next Up: CJ O’Hara CJ O’Hara 6'4" | SF Park Center | 2023 State #285 Nation MN of Hopkins. CJ competes at a different level every single game.
Game 3
The MVP: Donnavin Hinsz Donnavin Hinsz 6'6" | PF Columbia Heights | 2022 State MN of Columbia Heights. Played a number of roles well.
Next Up: Patrick Bath Patrick Bath 6'9" | C Totino Grace | 2023 State MN of Totino-Grace. What I love about Bath right now is his competitive fight.
Game 4
The MVP: Elvis Nnaji Elvis Nnaji 6'8" | C Hopkins | 2022 State #215 Nation MN of Hopkins. I don’t care how the game has changed, this energetic athlete is a high major player.
Next Up: Buay Koak Buay Koak 6'4" | SG Lyle-Pacelli | 2023 State MN of Lyle/Austin Pacelli. I’ll say it once again, Koak has a high ceiling and is working to it.
Game 5
The MVP: Boden Kapke Boden Kapke 6'11" | C Holy Family | 2023 State #153 Nation MN of Holy Family. The 6’10/6’11 center made his case and it was heard. Nationally ranked level talent. Top 3-4 prospect in this state for sure.
Next Up: Zach Jacobson of Rosemount. Scored 18 and the refs, coaches, and players kept asking “who is that?”
Game 6
The MVP: Ty Morrison Ty Morrison 6'4" | SF Deer River | 2022 State MN of Deer River. Another case made for Ty being the preseason Class A Player of the Year.
Next Up: Isaac Asuma Isaac Asuma 6'3" | PG Cherry | 2024 State #102 Nation MN of Cherry. Loved what I saw from Isaac yesterday, a clear top 10 player in the 2024 class.
