Between players boosting their stock with interest, getting offers or visits being taken, there is no shortage of headlines from the past week. Let’s run down the latest happenings.
Whitmore nearing a decision?
Cameron Whitmore Cameron Whitmore 6'7" | PF Archbishop Spalding | 2022 State #30 Nation MD , the top ranked prospect in the state, took his last scheduled official visit over the weekend to Villanova. His recruitment has been kept very close to the vest and a tough one to read, but with all of his official visits complete, it’s expected that a decision is next on his to-do list. No date has been cemented and while there has been no official word on who holds a lead, I’d predict hall-of-fame head coach Jay Wright to lure Whitmore to Villanova when it’s all said and done.

Rice down to two schools
Rodney Rice Rodney Rice 6'4" | CG DeMatha | 2022 State #89 Nation MD is another top prospect who completed his last scheduled official visit over the weekend to Louisville. The 6-foot-4 combo guard is known for his ability to score in a variety of ways was highly recruited by a number of power five programs, but it seems that this battle is between the Cardinals and Virginia Tech. Rice took his official visit with the Hokies earlier in the month and much of the talk around him has been that he will commit to Virginia Tech and join his former head coach at DeMatha Mike Jones. Although you can never count out Chris Mack and the Cardinals, as they welcomes Rice with open arms and know how to close deals during visits. This will be another decision likely to take place in the coming weeks.

Bryson Tucker Bryson Tucker 6'7" | CG IMG Academy | 2024 #15 Nation FL no longer a secret
We see the majority of prospects gain their attention from playing on respective AAU circuits, but 2024 Mount St. Joseph guard Bryson Tucker Bryson Tucker 6'7" | CG IMG Academy | 2024 #15 Nation FL chose a different route. Instead of lacing up in the spring in AAU play, he put his full focus and attention on making the Team USA U16 roster. Tucker was successful in doing so and helped bring home a gold medal this summer, which caught the attention of high majors around the country. Now standing near 6-foot-6 with a polished skill set, coaches are attending practices and immediately falling in love with Tucker. He has received four offers this month from Illinois, Penn State, Virginia Tech and George Mason. Expect this list to grow rapidly over the next few months as he blossoms into a top prospect nationally in the 2024 class.
Lamothe attracting heavy hitters
2023 St. Frances/Team Durant guard Jahnathan Lamothe Jahnathan Lamothe 6'3" | CG St. Frances | 2023 State #204 Nation MD has been the catalyst for high major programs making St. Frances a priority on their visit list this month. Maryland, LSU, Virginia, Illinois, Ohio State, Penn State, Georgetown and UConn are just some of the schools who stopped by to check up on the talented 2023 guard. Lamothe plans to take official visits to LSU and Illinois in the coming weeks.
Bryce Lindsay Bryce Lindsay 6'2" | CG St. Frances | 2022 State MD returns home, but will leave this weekend
Lindsay surprised people with the announcement of leaving Bishop Walsh and transferring to St. Frances for his senior season. The 6-foot-2 guard gained plenty of attention this summer showcasing his outside shooting ability and also his potential as a point guard. Even though he came home a few days ago, he’ll hit the road this weekend and take an official visit to Oklahoma State. He’ll also head to Virginia Tech October 1st for an official visit. Look for head coach Mike Boyton and the Cowboys to lock in a commitment from the sharpshooter on his visit this weekend.
I would like to thank @Coach_Prete and the rest of the coaching staff for giving me the opportunity and believing in me to compete at the Bishop Walsh School . With that being said I will be transferring to Saint Francis Academy.
