Texas ranked prospect Avery Jackson Avery Jackson 6'1" | G Frisco Memorial | 2022 TX , is usually known as lights out jumpshooter but at the GASO Fall Classic Jackson showed and proved to be much more than just one of the sharpest shooters in the state. The senior shooting guard stood out in a major way defensively with steals, blocks at the rim, and tremendous anticipation for the opponent’s next move. Offensively, Avery Jackson Avery Jackson 6'1" | G Frisco Memorial | 2022 TX kept possessions alive with his efforts on the board and nose for loose balls, he’s someone you can plug in at any time, with any lineup, and expect good requests, a true glue guy. During game 1, he was highly efficient from all three levels of the court, showing off his sniper-like shooting with a soft touch and a lightning-fast shot release. Game 2, versus the Waxahachie Indians, Jackson made his presence felt from long-range from start to finish.
Adam Lopez | Lake Highlands HS | C/o 2022
Adam Lopez is a name to remember, the 6-foot-6-inch forward made a lot of noise down low on both sides of the ball. Lopez displayed paint protection skills like no other. His first and second jump along with his phenomenal timing and anticipation for the shot allowed Adam to block or alter shots without fouling. Lopez’s 5 blocks in the second half against Richland High School changed the game drastically, forcing the Royals to settle for long jumpshots. This outstanding play on defense translated to the offensive end as well where Lopez often found chances to score by setting off-ball slip screens before cutting through the lane, straight to the hoop with his hands and eyes ready for the ball. Once Adam Lopez had the ball inside he proceeded to take and make difficult acrobatic layups after using spin moves that most defenders couldn’t stop.
Jalen Nettles Jalen Nettles 6'5" | SG Richland | 2022 State TX | Richland HS | C/o 2022
Jalen Nettles Jalen Nettles 6'5" | SG Richland | 2022 State TX made his highly anticipated return to the court and he did not disappoint. Nettles has transformed his build into a college-ready body and he is already using it well to his advantage when competing for boards and driving or scoring within the lane. Any time Jalen put the ball on the floor his dribble was incredibly low and under control making it impossible for the defense to rip him or keep him away from his spots or desired destination. Nettles also has the intangibles to help push the Richland Royals to success this season, he showed great leadership qualities, phenomenal communication skills, and looked as if he had the respect of all of his teammates.
Collin Knapp | Denton Guyer HS | C/o 2022
6-foot, Collin Knapp provided all of the little things that are conducive to winning games. Knapp went after every rebound, every loose ball, played hard-nosed defense and even picked his spots well offensively. This high motor, incredibly active, and productive individual took great pride in his defense and worked extremely hard for everything he got, while at the same time, making his assignment work even harder. Knapp displayed the versatility to effectively defend multiple positions when using his lateral quickness, his awareness of the ball, and his knack for catching on to his opponent’s tendencies. Collin Knapp’s energy and competitive spirit on the defensive end proved to be a major boost to Denton Guyer’s morale, especially when fighting back or closing games out.
JaCovey Campbell JaCovey Campbell 5'8" | PG Accelerated Prep | 2024 TX | McKinney HS | C/o 2023
JaCovey Campbell JaCovey Campbell 5'8" | PG Accelerated Prep | 2024 TX was the best perimeter defender in the building, a truly gritty, hard-nosed defensive talent that was willing to compete relentlessly to hassle and annoy opposing guards with his quick, active hands, choppy feet, and fearless ways which usually led to countless on-ball turnovers from start to finish. The McKinney floor general didn’t give an inch a breathing room whether he was playing on or off the ball and anytime that ball got loose on the floor Jacovey was the first down there to scoop it up. Campbell is as smart and tough of a defender as you will find anywhere. Very disciplined, he didn’t take risky gambles, he didn’t fall for fakes or jab steps, and he showcased every intangible asset a college coach could possibly be looking for in their lead guard.
