There are the makings of a very talented group and things may very well start with these five guys, names you should know going into the 2021-22 season.
Jalen Atkins Jalen Atkins 6'2" | SG Barlow | 2025 State OR , Barlow
Already blessed with good size at 6-foot-3 and a body physically mature for his age, great things are already being projected for Atkins. He’s a pure scorer who can do damage at all three levels and he’ll contribute immediately and often for Bruins head coach Tom Johnson, who coached Atkins’ father Josh in high school.
Brayden Boe Brayden Boe 6'5" | CG Mountainside | 2025 State #254 Nation OR , Mountainside
Boe is an all-around scorer and distributor who already has the body of a senior. The 6-foot-3 combo guard certainly made a name for himself with the Oregon Prospects this summer and caught the attention of Portland head coach Shantay Legans, who has offered him a scholarship. Boe has the genetics – his father is former Beaverton standout Brent Boe.
Boden Howell Boden Howell 6'3" | CG South Medford | 2025 State #394 Nation ID , South Medford
Alongside Boe, Howell impressed many with his play this summer with the Oregon Prospects. Also listed at 6-foot-3, he’s super smooth and has a sweet looking shot from the outside. Also an early recipient of an offer from Portland, Howell should fit right in with a South Medford squad looking to make serious noise this year in 6A.
Isaac Carr Isaac Carr 6'3" | CG Central Catholic | 2025 State #75 Nation OR , Central Catholic
Talk to those around PDX and they will tell you that Carr may have one of the sweetest outside shots since the turn of the millenium in the state. Carr certainly knocks down open shots but has the ability to get buckets while his shot is contested. He’ll line up alongside a very talented group for David Blue at Central Catholic.
Winters Grady Winters Grady 6'7" | SF Prolific Prep | 2025 #118 Nation CA-N , Lake Oswego
Big men are hard to come by and ones with skills are even harder. That’s what has head coach Marshall Cho excited about Grady, who at 6-foot-6 and still growing has the ability to play hard down low but also step out and shoot it. He is the son of a former Beaverton standout and D-I player in Ron Grady.
