Continue ReadingAcross the beautiful state of Idaho, the class of 2023 has already shown their ability to lead teams and make big plays at all levels. Many of these players at the top of the rankings have seen a lot of success in their careers and have continually shown how they can lead their teams, even from a young age. With the new rankings, many great players from the class of 2023 are still being underrated or unevaluated and I apologize for anyone who has been overlooked. Continue reading for a look at some of the top stock risers from the class of 2023.
Max Myers Max Myers 6'2" | SF Cole Valley Christian | 2023 State ID , Compass Charter: Myers made a pretty significant leap during this rankings update thanks to a strong summer showing and a lot of time spent in the gym over the summer. Myers can shoot with the best of them in the state and he worked hard this summer to become a more scary threat and more dimensional as a player. Max has been working to get his handles right while also mixing in more attacks to the rim and trips to the free throw line.
AJ LaBeau AJ LaBeau 7'0" | C Timberline | 2023 State ID , Timberline: AJ made a push into the top 3 players in the state as he has continued to grow and established himself as one of the best big men in the entire state of Idaho. AJ has been working to improve his jump shot so that he can stretch the floor and place a lot of pressure on opposing bigs. His ability to score in a variety of ways while also defending the rim on the other end of the floor makes him a rare talent with a lot of potential as he continues to improve.
Braeden Blackmore Braeden Blackmore 6'2" | SG Bonners Ferry | 2023 State ID , Bonners Ferry: Blackmore was able to increase his stock during this rankings update thanks to a busy off-season which consisted of a lot of training on the court. Braeden plays at a high level whenever he steps on the court and he consistently draws the toughest defender from the opposing team. On the other end of the floor, Braeden has shown that he can guard the other team’s best player as well and he plays hard all the time. Watch for Blackmore to hone in on his craft this season as he helps Bonners Ferry attempt to make a run at the state title in March.
