Dez White 6’2″ Helias: The talented combo guard is one of the premiere offensive players in the state, regardless of class. He is a terrific three-level bucket getter who makes it look easy at times. He has deep range from 3-point territory and he has the smooth handles to create his own shot off the dribble. He can also be a disruptive force on the defensive end with his speed and anticipation. He averaged more than 20 points a game as a sophomore and had a big summer for the MoKan Elite 16U team.
Kyan Evans Kyan Evans 6'2" | PG Staley | 2023 State MO 6’2″ Staley (pictured): The talented point guard has been a fixture as the Falcons’ starting point guard since his freshman year, when he helped his team to a Final Four appearance in 2020. As a sophomore, he averaged 15 points, four rebounds and four assists a game in leading Staley to a district championship. He’s a consummate floor leader who can keep his teammates involved and get a bucket when his team needs it. He was excellent during the summer with a talented MoKan Elite 16U team.
Kobi Williams Kobi Williams 6'4" | SG Westminster | 2023 State MO 6’3″ Westminster: An excellent two-way combo guard who was a big part in Westminster’s run to the Class 4 state championship game as a sophomore. He’s an explosive athlete who excels on the defensive end with his ability to play the passing lanes and lock it down on a big scorer. He can also handle the ball and hit the 3-pointer with his high-arching jumper. He averaged 13 points, three rebounds and three assists while shooting 42 percent from 3-point range last season. He played for the Gateway Basketball Club 16U squad during the summer.
Ahlante Askew 6’1″ Republic: An excellent two-way point guard who is one of the best in the Southwest Missouri region. He is a game-changing performer on the defensive end with his ability to create steals and turnovers and draw charging fouls with his ability to move his feet. He is also a nice playmaker who can distribute the basketball and knock down high-arching 3-pointers. He had a strong summer with the ShoMe Assault 16U squad.
BJ Ward 6’0″ Chaminade: A solidly built point guard who provided steady backcourt play for the Red Devils, who finished third in the Class 6 state tournament last season. He distributes the ball well, but he will be looked upon to provide increased scoring this season and he has the tools to do it. He can muscle his way into the lane for short jumpers and he is a solid 3-point shooter. He’s physical defensively and he can provide good on-ball pressure.
Jorden Williams Jorden Williams 6'0" | PG Whitfield | 2023 State MO 6’0″ Whitfield: A crafty left-handed point guard who had his sophomore year short-circuited by injuries, but he came back with a strong summer with the Gateway Basketball Club 16Us. He’s quick with slick handles and the ability to change directions and speeds. He can also settle on offense with his ability to organize a team. He is also a potent offensive player with a nice stroke from 3-point range.
Courtland Simmons 6’0″ Fulton: The Mid-Mo standout is probably the most physical point guard in the class. He is capable of strong-arming opposing guards with his power drives to the basket or his defensive tenacity. He can also knock down jumpers to compliment the drive and he likes the big moments of big games. As a sophomore, he led Fulton to the North Central Conference championship.
