Now, let us start diving deeper into those rankings by looking at six prospects who made double-digit leaps in the rankings since the last update back in April. If you missed it, check out part one of our stock-risers series from Tuesday.
Jared Bonds Jared Bonds 6'5" | PF Carmel | 2023 State IN (Carmel H.S. 2023)
This 6’5″ athletic forward has tremendous upside. Bonds can drive it from the wings and is a skilled finisher around the basket with quick feet. He is explosive off the floor getting to the rim. Rebounds it at a high level on both ends of the floor. Development will continue to take place, but the physical tools are there. Bonds made a nice leap in the rankings from #51 to #36.
Jacob Cherry Jacob Cherry 6'9" | C Eastern-Pekin | 2023 State IN (Eastern-Pekin H.S. 2023)
Cherry put together a very good summer playing with Grassroots Indiana and took a well deserved jump from #72 all the way up to #37 in the updated Prep Hoops Indiana rankings. The 6’9″ big man has nice skill around the basket even showing an improved ability to face-up and shoot it around 12-15 feet. Very long which allows him to block and alter shots on the defensive end. As he gets stronger he may rise even further.
Jesse Faires Jesse Faires 6'6" | PF Ben Davis | 2023 State IN (Ben Davis H.S. 2023)
Faires is an extremely skilled, versatile forward that can really score the basketball. At 6’7″ he can drive it from the perimeter and score with his back to the basket inside. His mix of physicality and athleticism helped propel him all the way to #28 from #81. Faires was the biggest riser in the rankings of any prospect in the Class of 2023.
Ben Henderson Ben Henderson 6'3" | SG Harrison | 2023 State IN (Harrison H.S. 2023)
Henderson scored the ball well all summer long for a talented Indiana Ice Gold squad after a strong sophomore season at Harrison High School. The 6’3″ guard is very athletic, has a strong frame, and can really score the basketball. He is efficient from all three levels. Made the jump from #103 to #59 overall. Talented off-ball guard.
Devon Woods Devon Woods 5'10" | PG Pike | 2023 State IN (Pike H.S. 2023)
He is a small point guard, but this 5’10” guy can really go. Woods is an excellent ball hander that makes all of the right reads on the offensive end. He plays very well off of the ballscreen with great pace. Just an all-around playmaker that you can trust to help you win games. Woods moved from #84 to #38 in the rankings.
Jordan Woods Jordan Woods 6'2" | PG Hammond Central | 2023 State IN (Hammond H.S. 2023)
This athletic guard from Hammond High School is a very intriguing perimeter prospect. He is one of the better drivers and slashers in the class. At 6’2″, Woods can get up and finish around the rim with some explosiveness. A ton of defensive upside with his length as well. Woods now checks in at #32 statewide, moving up from a previous ranking of #45.
