There were a total of 50 new prospects to Indiana’s Class of 2023 rankings and this is part two of the guys who debuted within the state’s Top 100. Make sure to check out part one of this post that ran on Tuesday if you missed it.
Nolen Duncan Nolen Duncan 6'4" | SF Heritage Christian | 2023 IN (Heritage Christian H.S. 2023)
Playing for INB Elite over the summer, Duncan made a name for himself as a productive driver and slasher from the perimeter. He is 6’4″ with a strong frame that allows him to physically beat smaller defenders. Love his athleticism and strength on the wing. Should have a break junior season after sliding over to Heritage Christian from Cathedral. He makes his Prep Hoops Indiana rankings debut at #84 overall.
Jacob Franklin Jacob Franklin 6'2" | SG Lawrence Central | 2023 State IN (Lawrence Central H.S. 2023)
Franklin got consistent minutes at Lawrence Central as a sophomore and should really shine during his junior year. He is a play-making guard that can play both on and off the ball. Definitely a good enough ball handler to be a lead guard, but shoots and scores it like a 2-guard. The 6’2″ guard breaks into the rankings at #79 in the state.
Tyson Good Tyson Good 6'6" | SF Lewis Cass | 2023 State IN (Lewis Cass H.S. 2023)
Good is a skilled forward that can really shoot the basketball. As he gets stronger he will be a prototypical face-up 4-man, but he is skilled enough to play out on the wing as a “3.” The 6’5″ forward played well with Grassroots Indiana on the AAU circuit and earned his first state ranking at #77.
Nate Matelic Nate Matelic 6'5" | SG Speedway | 2023 State IN (Speedway H.S. 2023)
You’ve got to love the size of this guard. Matelic is a 6’5″ wing that can do a little bit of everything on the offensive end. He is a very good pull-up jumper shooter with his size. He handles the ball well enough to create his own shot too. Matelic will need to continue to become more efficient, but he has all the skills to be a big time scorer at all three levels on the floor. His debut in the rankings comes at #81.
Ethan McComb Ethan McComb 6'1" | SG Center Grove | 2023 State IN (Center Grove H.S. 2023)
Very skilled 6’1″ guard that is an excellent three-point shooter. McComb can make tough threes off of the bounce with a tight enough handle to create his own shot from beyond the arc. He will be part of an excellent Center Grove backcourt with teammate Marcus Ankney Marcus Ankney 6'3" | SG Center Grove | 2023 State IN . McComb debuts in the state rankings at #88 overall.
J.J. Morris J.J. Morris 6'6" | SF Argos | 2023 State IN (Argos H.S. 2023)
6’5″ skilled forward that can score it in a variety of ways. Morris earned a #87 overall ranking with his offensive versatility. He is a very good three-point shooter giving him the ability to develop into a college pick-and-pop 4-man. Morris also attacks closeouts off the dribble well and can finish on his way to the rim. Talented all-around player.
