Minnehaha Academy (1). The Redhawks have the type of wing/forward size that will make them the favorite to repeat. As we said the other day, Prince Aligbe Prince Aligbe 6'6" | SF Minnehaha Academy | 2022 State #167 Nation MN will play guard on offense and he will play some up front. Defensively he will guard all over. So you take him, Chase Carter Chase Carter 6'7" | PF Minnehaha Academy | 2022 MN who is really a power forward that will play the post, Rolyns Aligbe Rolyns Aligbe 6'9" | C Minnehaha Academy | 2023 State MN , and Nick Parten who could play some three and you have a strong group.
Lake City (2). The Tigers are ready to get back in the state mix this year with the backcourt we talked about a few days ago and the forwards we speak of now. Justin Wohlers Justin Wohlers 6'6" | PF Lake City | 2022 State MN is the leading returning scorer for Lake City at 17 a game. He will pair with long and agile up and coming junior Ryan Heise Ryan Heise 6'8" | SF Lake City | 2023 State MN who is very skilled at 6’6.
Blake (3). With a strong big wing/forward group the Blake Bears won’t fall too far after the graduation of several key pieces. Leading scorers Theo Liu Theo Liu 6'4" | PF Blake | 2022 State MN and Grayson Okoronkwo are both back. Theo will play a lot at the four spot for Blake while Grayson will be somewhere on the wing pending on how the hard play looks. Then you add Dane Borene as another quality sophomore with size and strong 6’4 Max Hubler at the four and you have a quality group.
DGF (4), Owen Leach Owen Leach 6'6" | SF Dillworth Glyndon-Felton | 2023 State MN is one of the top frontcourt scorers in the entire junior class and he will once again team with fellow forward Logan Bitker who scored ten a game last season. Leach has scholarship level talent.
Minneapolis North (5). Jacob Butler Jacob Butler 6'3" | SF Minneapolis North | 2022 State MN puts the Polars on this list. He is a versatile three position guy at 6’5 who is coming off a great summer. And at times, Willie Wilson Willie Wilson 6'2" | CG Minneapolis North | 2022 State MN could be a third guard at 6’3 that will guard some threes so we throw him in here although he will likely be in the backcourt the most.
Anndandale (6). Brady Spaulding Brady Spaulding 6'7" | SF Annandale | 2022 State MN is a 6’6 power forward who averaged double digits last year for a top ten area team. Brady and Robert Olson give the Cards returning talent at forward.
Luverne (7). One of the better small school juniors out there is Gannon Ahrendt of Luverne, a 6’4 athletic forward that had a big number junior year. Seth Bose is the other forward that was a key piece and that duo should have a great season leading the Cards.
Warroad (8). The Warriors have big expectations this year and a big reason is all league MVP Dylan Fox Dylan Fox 6'2" | SF Warroad | 2022 State MN returning at forward along with double-double battler Virgil Laznicka.
Rockford (9) Keep an eye on Rockford. Sam Zilmer Sam Zilmer 6'4" | PF Rockford | 2022 State MN is coming off a great season at 16 a game and at 6’4 Derek Pepin Derek Pepin 6'2" | SG Rockford | 2022 State MN is a wing that scored a dozen a contest. Rockford is a top ten area squad.
Lewiston-Altura (10). With Thomas Menk Thomas Menk 6'4" | SG Lewiston-Altura | 2022 State MN playing on the wing at 6’5 this is a squad that will once again have a good eyar and Menk could put up massive numbers.
