Wright, an athletic but raw 6-6 forward, led 4A in rebounding as a freshman by more than a rebound a game. He has a nose for the ball, good hands, and is a great leaper who does a great job pounding the glass on both ends of the floor. His offensive game is still a work in progress, but his rebounding is excellent. If he can develop a more consistent offensive game, watch out.
2.) 2023 Prince Jallah Prince Jallah 6'1" | SG Marshalltown | 2023 State IA (Marshalltown) – 8.6
A long and explosive wing defender, Jallah crashes the glass hard on both ends of the floor. He has versatility as a defender both on-and-off the ball, and he has really improved as a playmaker.
3.) 2022 Peter Moe Peter Moe 6'9" | PF Iowa City West | 2022 State IA (Iowa City West) – 8.5
The Indianapolis move-in is an all-around offensive juggernaut with his ability to score at all three levels with his 6-9 frame. He has soft hands, great footwork, and is a solid rebounder on both ends of the floor.
4.) 2022 Tynan Numkena Tynan Numkena 6'2" | SF Bettendorf | 2022 IA (Bettendorf) – 7.8
Numkena is undersized for his forward spot, but he uses his wide receiver skills to dominate on the glass. He’s one of the best receivers in the state on the gridiron, and he uses his excellent hands and explosive athleticism to be a dominant rebounder. He averaged more rebounds than points (5.8) last season.
5.) 2022 Armonniey Thomas Armonniey Thomas 6'2" | PG Marshalltown | 2022 State IA (Marshalltown) – 7.7
A 6-0 lead guard who holds an offer from Florida International, Thomas is a fantastic athlete with a huge wingspan that he uses to out-leap and outreach opposing players to pull down boards. He’s lightning quick and rebounds well both in and out of his area.
6.) 2022 Ryan Crandall Ryan Crandall 6'1" | SF Ankeny | 2022 State IA (Ankeny) – 7.3
Another football standout who does a good job using his athleticism and physicality to his advantage on the hardwood, Crandall is the leader of an Ankeny team that should be among the best in 4A this season.
7.) 2022 Josh Dix Josh Dix 6'5" | SG Council Bluffs Lincoln | 2022 State #149 Nation IA (Council Bluffs Lincoln) – 7.2
The future high-major wing stuffs the stat sheet across the board for the Lynx with his dynamic two-way abilities. He’s a high IQ player who defends at a high level and does a great job competing on the glass, using his length and athleticism to his advantage to outleap opposing players for boards.
8.) 2022 Keeon Hutton Keeon Hutton 6'3" | SG Sioux City West | 2022 KS (Sioux City West) – 7.0
Hutton is an explosive athlete who stuffs the stat sheet for the Wolverines, using his physical stature and great leaping ability to snatch rebounds that he probably has no business getting.
9.) 2022 Jamari Newson Jamari Newson 6'2" | PG Iowa City | 2022 State IA (City High) – 6.8
A long and athletic lead guard, Newson does a great job rebounding in and out of his area. He’s also a menace on the defensive end with his lateral quickness and length.
10.) 2023 Traijan Sain Traijan Sain 6'5" | SF Cedar Rapids Washington | 2023 State IA (Cedar Rapids Washington) – 6.6
A 6-5/6-6 wing with great length, Sain does a good job using his length on both ends of the floor to make an impact. He is a solid on-ball defender and scorer who has established himself as one of the best players in the 2023 class.
