The NCAA provided 6 Live Period Days in June (June 18th – 20th June 25th-27th) and 9 Days in July (July 8th – 11th, July 21st -26th). Some players used this period to justify their rankings, others as a way to catch the eyes of coaches and scouts. In this article, a follow up to our Summer Stockrisers Part 1 we take a look at some local players who used the summer to raise their stock.
Chris Parra Chris Parra 6'0" | PG Atrisco Heritage | 2023 State NM 6’0 PG Afrisco Heritage 2023 – Parra is a floor-spacing PG. He shot the ball well in a couple of big events, including the Las Vegas Royalty Big time event. He’s got legit Pro range and plays with a nice change of pace, keeping defenders off balance.
Sean Alter Sean Alter 6'9" | PF Volcano Vista | 2023 State NM 6’8 PF 2023 (featured image) – Alter showed that he is more than a big body. The athletic post displayed the ability to score around the rim with his strong hand. He’s a good low post player that made it difficult for taller players to receive direct passes. His size and R&J ability make him a player to keep an eye on.
Latavious Morris Latavious Morris 5'8" | PG Atrisco Heritage | 2025 State NM 5’7 PG 2025 – Morris is a two-sport athlete, currently starring on the Gridiron. The PG has some serious wiggle and performed well on the PrepHoops Middle School Circuit last season. He makes the list because of his willingness to play up against older competition throughout the summer, showing that he can still get to the basket against bigger, stronger competition.
Sean Johnson Sean Johnson 6'6" | SF Sandia | 2022 State NM 6’6 SF Sandia 2022 – Johnson is an intriguing prospect with good size and agility. Defensively he defends both Point Guards and wings effectively. Offensively he showed that he was able to get out and score in transition, as well as attack and finish at the rim when playing downhill.
Adrian Jackson 6’0 PG Socorro 2022 – Jackson put on a show this summer when he went out to Las Vegas for the Basketball Royalty event. The PG showed terrific scoring ability, He’s got a nice mid-range game that he uses effectively, and his ability to get all the way to the bucket and finish is what lands him on this list.
