For many players this was the first opportunity to compete with their high school teammates in a structured environment. Let’s take a look at some of the top performers from this past weekend.
Eagles Senior Guard Amari Pearson Amari Pearson 6'3" | SF Cape Fear Christian Academy | 2022 State NC : One of the leading scorers on the day with 27 Points, Pearson showcased an offensive skillset that helped his team take home the win. His athleticism, defense and high motor has always been attributes he possessed but now he’s developed his perimeter shooting which makes him an even more intriguing prospect and harder to defend.
Patriots Senior Wing Nehemiah Thomas: A player that we got our first introduction last weekend, he led his team in scoring and showed some potential to be a prospect on the next level. Showcasing an efficient jumper from midrange and the ability to rebound the ball at a high rate, he understands how to use his height to his advantage to make plays.
Northside Junior Guard Isaiah Washington Isaiah Washington 6'5" | SG Winston-Salem Christian | 2024 State NC : He’s known for his ability to score the ball at a very high level and that’s exactly what we saw from him, scoring a game high of 27 Points. Knocking down shots from outside, blowing by defenders and finishing above the rim were all things we saw from him.
The Dawgs Senior G/F Davis Molnar Davis Molnar 6'6" | SF Terry Sanford | 2022 State NC : One of the top uncommitted Seniors in the eastern region of the state, he brought his typical production to the table, making an impact by scoring, rebounding and facilitating. The combination of his size and skillset makes him a player that D1 programs are intrigued by and it does not take long to see why.
Westside Senior Wing Mikey Campbell Mikey Campbell 6'5" | SF Westover | 2022 State NC : He got off to a nice start, attacking defenders and using his athleticism to score the ball. His team will need him to step into a leadership role this year and stay consistent offensively as he is one of the main contributors scoring the ball.
Robeson County Guard Jeyvian Tatum Jeyvian Tatum 6'3" | CG St Paul's | 2022 State NC : One of the best scorers in the Cape Fear Region, Tatum seems to always find a way to put the ball in the bucket. He didn’t have one of his best scoring days but showed flashes of his ability while still finishing with a game high of 14 Points.
The Life Senior Forward Triston Robinson: He’s an undersized Forward but understands how to use his weight and positioning to rebound the ball. Not only did he make an impact rebounding the ball but he also led his team in scoring, knocking down shots from midrange and inside the paint.
