Deshawne Crim Deshawne Crim 6'2" | PG Fairfield | 2023 State OH , 6’0 PG Fairfield 2023: Crim is a PG that SW Ohio basketball fans are going to be seeing a lot of in the future. Fairfield could be the best team in the Cincy area next season and after a solid summer with Midwest Basketball Club 3SSB 16U, they should already know about his game. Crim is a score first PG who looks to attack off the bounce and get to his spots. I like his fit next to Logan Woods Logan Woods 6'4" | SG Fairfield | 2022 State OH for Fairfield and next to Nate Dukukovich for Midwest. Crim can play a variety of styles but is at his best in the open floor. I’d like to see Crim lower his turnovers and focus off-ball defensively. If he improves in these two areas, sky is the limit for Fairfield in 2021-22.
Solomon Callaghan Solomon Callaghan 6'0" | PG Wadsworth | 2023 State OH , 6’1 PG Wadsworth 2023: Callaghan has flown under the radar in NEO basketball circles, playing in the Suburban league against teams like Brecksville, Hudson and Stow. Callaghan had some huge scoring games during his Junior season. Callaghan can play on or off ball, his shooting ability translates to both situations. I expect Callaghan to become a household name in NEO sometime next winter.
Justin Wypasek Justin Wypasek 5'10" | PG Strongsville | 2023 State OH , 5’10 PG Strongsville 2023: Wypasek has been starting on varsity in one of the most competitive public school leagues in the state since his freshman season. The lumps he took against older competition seemed to help him this summer, as Wypasek was the floor general for an OBC squad that picked up some impressive wins. Wypasek has a tight handle, low to the ground, and can really make you pay from the outside when he creates space to shoot. He doesn’t have the prototypical frame that a college PG has, but his game is certainly up to par.
Cody Head Cody Head 6'1" | CG Lutheran East | 2023 State OH , 6’1 PG Lutheran East 2023: I previously wasn’t the biggest fan of Head but he certainly raised some eyebrows with his play at the Peach Jam. Head was playing confidently against very talented kids and producing at a level that I previously hadn’t seen from him. I’ll be interested to see if Head can continue this momentum that he’s built, he will continue to rise in the rankings. It will also be interesting to see how he produces for Lutheran East, transferring there from Shaker Heights.
Michael Greenlee Michael Greenlee 5'10" | PG Toledo Central Catholic | 2023 State OH , 5’10 PG Toledo Central Catholic 2023: Greenlee is another small guard who plays the game with a high feel and IQ. Greenlee is a point guard that old school coaches that want to run an offense will love. He doesn’t provide a ton of scoring capability, but he really defends and makes sure his teammates get involved. I thought Greenlee fit in well with both C2K and Ohio Buckets when I saw him this spring and summer, but his best basketball was played with the Buckets. Toledo Central Catholic has a lot of talent in the 2023 and 2024 classes, they could make a deep playoff run next season.
