We will look at some of the most underrated scholarship level players still available in the state of VA. Here’s a look at part two of the underrated scholarship wings in the senior class.
Kendon Peebles Kendon Peebles 6'4" | SF Catholic | 2022 State VA | 6’4” | Catholic
Peebles is an intriguing two way impact wing with a lot of upside with his mix of length, athleticism and high motor that he plays with. He’s a versatile defender who can guard multiple positions and is a good shot blocker, he thrives in transition where he can play above the rim and he is very productive on both ends of the floor.
Travon Gray | 6’5” | Peninsula Catholic
Gray is one of the most productive wings in the state of VA and it’s shocking to me at his size with his production level that he doesn’t have more going on recruitment wise. He’s a big and physical wing that’s athletic and plays above the rim, he rebounds at a high rate and plays with a great motor and he can catch and shoot from deep as well.
Greg Williams Greg Williams 6'4" | SF VA Academy | 2022 State VA | 6’3” | VA Academy
Williams is the definition of underrated as he is a late bloomer who is a two way impact player and can really fill it up from deep when he gets it going. He’s a fluid athlete that can play above the rim and really guards and makes plays defensively, he’s a smooth shooter with a high release and deep range and he brings it every second that he’s on the floor.
Deshawn Goodwyn Deshawn Goodwyn 6'4" | SG George Wythe | 2022 State VA | 6’4” | George Wythe (Richmond)
We’ve named quite a few knock down shooters in this series with the wings, but Goodwyn could be the best when it comes to a shooter specialist with good size. The 6’4” wing is one of the most confident shooters in the state and broke the single season record for three-pointers made at Wythe both his freshman and sophomore season before Covid canceled his junior year. He’s a spot up shooter with very deep range and he gets them up and makes a ton of them.
Piercen Young Piercen Young 6'4" | SG Virginia Episcopal | 2022 State VA | 6’3” | VES
Young has dealt with some injuries over the past few years, but when it comes to an all-around wing who can do it all and is a natural leader and gamer he’s that kind of guy. Whatever it takes to win he’ll do it whether it’s handling the ball and initiating the offense and making plays for others, making shots from deep and creating for himself or rebounding and defending with toughness and grit.
