The Class of 2022 has some great guards to look at as they have next level talent. This includes PG’s, G’s and SG’s. Here is a short list of some of those under recruited prospects.
Rex Sunderland Rex Sunderland 6'4" | PG Davis | 2022 State UT → Davis High School
Although Rex has picked up a few offers from a few local schools and some in the region he is one of the most under recruited guards with a lot of talent. Rex is not just a PG that runs offense or takes a massive amount of shots, he can get teammates involved, he protects the ball and he knows when it’s his turn to take over or take those tough shots. He can play off-guard as well because he has really been shooting the ball extremely well. He is not just a prospect that will sit out there and jack up three’s he can get to the rim with his crafty style of play yet he can play physical as well. Rex is a prospect that won’t back down defensively as he will guard anyone in the country.
Dylan Jones Dylan Jones 6'6" | SG Westlake | 2022 State UT → Westlake High School
Dylan is a shooting guard that can really get going in a hurry. He has various ways of getting his shot off as he has different release points. He doesn’t need to dip the ball so much to get leverage to get his long balls off. Has an offer from a Canadian school but could land himself a few more offers once he gets more looks through some of his high school play and possible playing on an unsigned team to bolster his recruitment.
Kolton Smith Kolton Smith 6'4" | SG Skyline | 2022 State UT → Olympus High School
Kolton has a big year ahead of him as he will get to showcase his shooting ability. Kolton playing in some tough tournaments this Spring and Summer but is still under recruited as a SG. A big year could change that. Kolton does a great job getting his feet set and coming off of screens or any movement. He is a player that the defense has to pay attention too as he attract defenders even in false movement. Once he crosses half-court he must be accounted for as he can let it go from beyond the arc.
Nick Holland Nick Holland 5'11" | PG Skyridge | 2022 State UT → Skyridge High School
One of the most consistent guards in the class as he does everything he is asked fairly well. He can get a team in their sets, he is great off-the-ball with his movement. He can straight line drive but he also has some wiggle to his game. Nick can hurt you with his shooting from 15-feet or from deep. Quality defender that is willing to defend.
