Cameron Whitmore Cameron Whitmore 6'7" | PF Archbishop Spalding | 2022 State #30 Nation MD | 6’7 | Archbishop Spalding
Our guy Colby Giacubeno has been all over the Whitmore beat and we expect this recruitment to come to an end soon. Whitmore has named a final three of Villanova, Illinois and North Carolina. He has taken official visits to North Carolina and Illinois and is scheduled to take an official visit to Villanova on September 17th. All of the talk has been surrounding Whitmore and Villanova recently and that is where I am predicting Whitmore to land.
Favour Aire Favour Aire 6'10" | C Bishop McNamara | 2022 State #86 Nation MD | 6’10 | Bishop McNamara
Aire’s recruitment has gone a little under the radar but we did see some action take place this past weekend when he took a visit to Rutgers. Until he takes any more visits I want to say Rutgers could be the favorite to land him but I don’t want to count out Georgetown or Louisville quite yet. Ohio State might be hanging on a little as well.
Rodney Rice Rodney Rice 6'4" | CG DeMatha | 2022 State #89 Nation MD | 6’4 | DeMatha
Earlier this summer Rice turned down a deal to sign with OTE. Since he turned that deal down he has taken an official visit to Virginia Tech and has one set up for later in the month with Louisville. This seems to be a two team race between the two ACC programs and I think it is pretty dead even but as of now I am giving the slight edge to Virginia Tech.
Darren Buchanan Jr. | 6’7 | Woodrow Wilson
Buchanan is another prospect whose recruitment is a little unclear but there are numerous schools in the mix for him. Buchanan just committed to stay at Wilson for his senior year to play for first year head coach Tee Johnson. George Washington, JMU and Rutgers seem to be the three schools pushing the hardest for him but as more visits happen this fall, we will start to learn more about Buchanan’s recruitment.
Tyson Commander Tyson Commander 6'4" | SG The John Carroll School | 2022 State #203 Nation MD | 6’4 | John Carroll
Commander is a deadeye shooter that many schools could use in the coming years. Commander is part of a good John Carroll team that is supposed to make a lot of noise this season which should only help boost his recruitment. Commander is another prospect that we will learn more about involving his recruitment as he starts to visit some schools. Since Januar, Commander has picked up offers from Iona, Robert Morris, UMass, Fordham and UNCG.
