Continue ReadingWith school back in session, a lot of high school seniors have began cutting their lists and making their college decisions but there are still a handful of prospects that have a wide open recruitment. The state of Virginia always has a high number of prospects to advance to the college level and play college basketball. The focus of this article is to take a look at the top unsigned seniors in the state. Earlier part one was released which can be viewed here!
Christian May Christian May 6'6" | SF Bishop O'Connell | 2022 State VA | 6’6 | Bishop O’Connell
May is coming off a terrific summer with Team Takeover being one of their most consistent producers during EYBL. May showed off some tremendous athleticism as he was multiple highlight worthy above the rim finishes that were all over social media. Colleges have taken notice and since June he has picked up offers from George Washington, UMBC, Fordham, St. Francis, ETSU, Bryant, Wofford and Indiana State.
Miles Webb Miles Webb 6'7" | PF St. Stephen's St. Agnes | 2022 State VA | 6’7 | St. Stephen’s & St. Agnes
Webb is the latest St. Stephen’s St. Agnes prospect to develop nicely during his time under head coach Mike Jones. The 6’7 forward is super athletic which allows him to have a lot of versatility on both sides of the ball. Coaches at the low major level should definitely be looking at him this fall.
DeJuan Campbell DeJuan Campbell 6'1" | PG Kecoughtan | 2022 State VA | 6’1 | Kecoughtan
One of the more underrated players in the state, Campbell has been impressive in front of me multiple times throughout the year. He is a tough lead guard that knows how to make winning plays for his team whether it is scoring the ball or getting his teammates involved. Campbell has a lot of schools from the MEAC showing interest in him and I would expect that to continue into the fall.
Greg Melvin Greg Melvin 6'7" | PF Cape Henry | 2022 State VA | 6’7 | Cape Henry
Melvin is a great team player that will do whatever it takes to help and win a game for his team. Known for rebounding the ball well, Melvin is a guy that can be a solid rotation player at the low major level and be a solid low post presence in college. Melvin is another guy that we should know more about his recruitment as the high school season gets closer.
Davin Cosby Jr Davin Cosby Jr 6'5" | CG Word of God | 2023 #111 Nation NC . | 6’4 | John Marshall
One of the biggest stock risers from the state of Virginia this past summer, Cosby certified himself as a division one caliber prospect after playing in DC Live during June. The 6’4 shooting guard is a sniper from behind the arc where he can pull up off the dribble or he can be reliable off the catch. Cosby moves off the ball trying to get open as well. George Washington, Robert Morris, Howard, Radford, Canisius, UNCG, Fairfield and NJIT have all extended offers since June.
