Jack Daugherty Jack Daugherty 6'8" | PF Brookfield Central | 2024 State #311 Nation WI – F – Phenom University
Daugherty had a big July in the EYBL. The 6-foot-7 forward looked like a really nice stretch big man with some budding versatility. Daugherty can be an excellent weapon in the pick n’ pop game. Daugherty is long, lanky, and moves well for his size. He’s got a pretty stroke from the outside and shows flashes of being a mismatch problem when he puts the ball on the deck from the perimeter or faces up and attacks from the high post.
Will Hornseth Will Hornseth 6'8" | PF De Pere | 2024 State #208 Nation WI – PF – Wisconsin Blizzard
Think Hornseth is just a kid that’s going to keep steadily climbing. Could elevate him further than I have him now, but don’t want to push the envelope too far for a developing and budding post prospect. Good blend of strength, skill, and athleticism here. Hornseth has a chance to be a total package-type post prospect as a guy who can score with his back to the basket, space the floor, run in transition, rebound, and protect the rim. Definitely one of the more advanced post prospects for his age in terms of an all-around skillset that I’ve seen in recent memory.
Kon II Knueppel Kon II Knueppel 6'6" | SG Wisconsin Lutheran | 2024 State #15 Nation WI – SG – Phenom University
Trying to split hairs right now as to whether or not Knueppel ends up as the first or second ranked prospect in the 2024 class. A pure shooter with a high scoring IQ, Knueppel consistently put up big scoring numbers throughout the EYBL season. Think there’s more to his game than just putting the ball in the bucket as well. Knueppel appears solid across the board in terms of being a willing defender, rebounder, and making the right basketball play when his offense isn’t there. Reminds me a little of Brevin Pritzl as somebody who could light up the scoreboard, but could also get you 4-5 rebounds, had some sneaky athleticism, and did his job defensively regardless of whether or not shots were falling for him.
Aidan Konop Aidan Konop 6'2" | SG Sussex Hamilton | 2024 State WI – G – ABC Young Lions
Konop improved his stock by playing more on the ball this summer and being a playmaker. The 6-foot-1 guard has some nice length and is very smooth/decisive on the ball. Konop has break-you-down ability, vision to play his way out of traffic, and a three-level scoring skillset. Konop played varsity for Sussex Hamilton last season and it wasn’t out of the question that he would draw the other team’s best player at times defensively. Think he’ll form a nice 1-2 punch in the backcourt with Luther Smith Luther Smith 6'1" | SG Sussex Hamilton | 2023 State WI during the 2021-22 season.
Sekou Konneh Sekou Konneh 6'6" | SF St. Thomas More | 2024 State WI – SF – Team Haliburton
Konneh played up in 16U in July and showed a lot of promise. Konneh is a plus-length, 6-foot-6 forward with a huge upside. Right now, he’s going to make most of his noise in transition, but Konneh can shoot in the mid-range a bit and create matchup problems by pulling people away from the rim and going to work in isolation settings. Can see Konneh being a junkyard dog defensively as well. He’s got the tools to own the glass and protect the rim at a high level. If his offensive skills catch up to his physical measurables…watch out.
Joey LaChapell Joey LaChapell 5'10" | PG Appleton East | 2024 State WI – PG – Wisconsin Crusaders
Lachapell will make his debut in the rankings after a strong outing at the Prep Hoops Hard Work Finals. The sophomore guard has extreme confidence as a scorer. Lachapell played varsity last season for an Appleton East squad that’s got quite a bit of talent, including four or five college prospects. Like him creating with the ball in his hands, but Lachapell is also dangerous off the ball as a sniper as well.
Jaiden Martin Jaiden Martin 6'1" | CG Dominican | 2024 State WI – G – Team Haliburton
Another freshman that played up in 16U, Martin can flat out shoot the basketball. He plays on a team full of athletic talent, but Team Haliburton still runs a lot of stuff for the sharpshooter. The Dominican product does a great job of running off screens and is an excellent shooter from the corners. Martin caught my eye with his outside shooting ability, but he’s got a body type/frame that could allow him to be a more complete scorer as he gets older and not be so reliant on triples.
Carson Pendleton Carson Pendleton 6'2" | PG Kimberly | 2024 WI – G/W – Team 1848
Think Pendleton has some of the most exciting versatility in the 2024 class. He’s 6-foot-1 with some length and plays a lot on the ball. Could see him being a 6-3/6-4 versatile point wing that impacts the game in a variety of ways. Pendleton thrives in transition as someone who can get coast-to-coast with the ball. What jumps out is how hard he takes the ball to the rim and finishes at top end speed. Pendleton is a two-way player that creates turnovers and jumpstarts the fast break. He’s also an instinctive prospect that values the basketball, takes high percentage shots, and is able to consistently create easy offense consistently throughout a game.
Alex Ramus Alex Ramus 5'10" | CG Appleton North | 2024 WI – G – Fox Valley Kings
A skilled guard who can score the basketball, Ramus flashed on film at the Prep Hoops Hard Work Finals. The Appleton North product has a terrific pull-up game in the mid-range, can get by people on the ball, and shoot with a hand in his face. Interested to see if he can help a Lightning squad next season that could use another scorer to take some of the burden off Valparaiso-bound Max Nelson.
