Team Comments from coach Chris Buckmiller
“Overall, our season was a great success. This was my first year coaching the group and many of the boys were new to our program this year. It was great seeing the boys come together as a team. We finished the season playing our best basketball. All of our guys made incredible strides and will add value to their high school programs as they enter their first year of high school. We are excited to see this group develop together as their ceiling is extremely high.”
Roster
Edison Noll Edison Noll 6'0" | CG Sioux Falls Lincoln | 2025 State SD (2025) |5-9 G| Sioux Falls Lincoln – Eddy can do it all. He is a high motor player who got us going and brought a load of toughness to our team. His biggest improvement was executing at the point guard position.
Luke Bruns Luke Bruns 6'2" | SG Dakota Valley | 2025 State SD (2025) |5-6 G| Dakota Valley – Luke was lethal from 3-pt range. Many of those shots were also in “clutch time” with the game on the line. His biggest improvement was his consistent pull-up jumper.
Braeden Feeldy Braeden Feeldy 5'10" | PG Harrisburg | 2025 State SD (2025) |5-9 G| Harrisburg – Braeden is one of the best passers you’ll find in the state regardless of age. His ability to find his teammates open makes all of his teammates better. Braeden’s biggest stride was stepping up and guarding the best perimeter player on the opposing team.
Cruz Klundt Cruz Klundt 6'0" | PG Gregory | 2025 State SD (2025) |5-10 G| Gregory – Cruz is a great spark that the team needed off the bench. We could always count on Cruz coming in and giving it his all. His biggest improvement was his mid-range jump shot.
Maverick LeBrun Maverick LeBrun 6'4" | SG Dell Rapids St. Mary | 2025 State SD (2025) |5-9 G| Flandreau – Maverick is a great overall player and has a great feel of the game. He didn’t lead the team in scoring but always made plays that don’t show up on a stat sheet but wins games. Mav’s biggest improvement was winning the first step on defense.
Ben Brooks Ben Brooks 6'9" | SG Madison | 2025 State SD (2025) |6-7 F| Madison – Ben was a match-up nightmare for opposing teams. He is tough for BIGS to guard on the perimeter and his size makes it frustrating for smaller defenders in the paint. Ben’s biggest improvement was becoming a true rim protector and rebounder for the team.
Shawn Hammerbeck Shawn Hammerbeck 6'7" | PF Winner | 2025 State SD (2025) |6-6 F| Winner – Shawn was an absolute force for us in the paint. Most post touches were an automatic bucket for us. His biggest improvement was defending athletic forwards on the perimeter.
Maverick Nelson Maverick Nelson 6'3" | SG Sioux Valley | 2025 State SD (2025) |5-11 G| Sioux Valley – Maverick was a great player for us on both ends of the floor. He is a player who is a sponge and wants to be coached. His biggest improvement was beating guys off the dribble.
Blake Albers (2025) |5-7 G| MOC-Floyd Valley (IA) – Blake got better each game and by the end of the season, he became one of our best 3-pt threats. We could always count on him making the simple, fundamental play. His biggest improvement was his ability to defend athletics guards.
Aiden Costain Aiden Costain 6'7" | PF Harrisburg | 2025 State SD (2025) |6-2 G| Harrisburg – Aidan was a high-energy spark off the bench. When the team would struggle, he seemed to always go in and make the team better with his “effort plays.” His biggest improvement was learning how to play on the perimeter on both ends of the floor.
