Top-10 2024 Prospects in SD
#1. JT Rock JT Rock 7'1" | C Sioux Falls Lincoln | 2024 #37 Nation SD |7-0 C| Sioux Falls Lincoln/SD Attack
He is obviously tall and long. What’s impressive about JT is his mobility and feet. It is rare to find a player as tall as him that moves so well. Rock can dominate around the basket and he can step out and shoot from the outside. For his young age, JT has a mature game. As he continues to improve and refine his skills JT will be nearly impossible to stop. He is also a game-changing defender with his size and long arms. He already has a D-1 offer and will most likely gain many more. Rock has received interest from BIG-10 teams and other Power-5 schools this summer. JT is a once-in-a-generation type player.
#2. Jacoby Mehrman Jacoby Mehrman 6'4" | PG Harrisburg | 2024 State SD |6-3 PG| Harrisburg/SD Network
This lefty can flat-out ball. Jacoby can drill 3-pointers off the dribble or in catch-and-shoot situations. He also has a nice mid-range pull-up game. Jacoby has an excellent jab step and he uses his body amazingly well when finishing. I like that Mehrman can finish with both hands and his great hang time. He has the athleticism and body control to make acrobatic finishes in traffic. Jacoby has a great feel for the game and he is a smooth passer. He can also body-up smaller guards for easy baskets in the paint. This kid has HUGE potential.
#3. Matt Anderson Matt Anderson 6'6" | SF Canton | 2024 State SD |6-5 CG| Canton
An athletic player who can rise above the rim and throw-down with 2-hands. Anderson is a disruptive defender that forces TO’s with length, anticipation, and athleticism. Matthew is an effective slasher with a soft runner. I like his mid-range jumper and he is a knockdown 3-point shooter. Anderson has great potential and he is a star on the rise. Matthew is a very exciting player that will do great things in the coming season.
#4. Porter Ihnen Porter Ihnen 6'5" | CG Lennox | 2024 State #318 Nation SD |6-4 G/F| Lennox/Pentagon Schoolers
A lefty with all of the tools to be great. Porter has notable handles and he is excellent at changing speeds. Ihnen can shoot it from outside and slash through the lane for interior buckets. He had a great summer with the Schoolers playing with the 15U and 16U teams. Porter can dominate on the glass and put up big points on the offensive end. Ihnen has nothing but upside in the game of hoops.
#5. Lukas Morgan Lukas Morgan 6'7" | SF Brandon Valley | 2024 State SD |6-5 SF| Brandon Valley
A quality athlete that looks to be a promising prospect. Lukas is long and he can jump, which is a scary combination. He is a very hard worker that does not take possessions off. With his body, athleticism, effort, and potential, Morgan has the potential to be a special player.
#6. Daniel Mitchell Daniel Mitchell 6'7" | SF Gregory | 2024 State SD |6-7 PF| Gregory/SD Attack
He is another long and athletic Big-Man. Mitchell is also an elite athlete. He can score from all 3-levels. His three-point shooting makes him a mismatch. Most bigs can’t guard him outside and guards can not handle him inside. Daniel is a rim-rocking finisher that dunks on a regular basis. His height and athleticism make him a valuable rim protector. Mitchell had a great summer with SD Attack and you should expect him to have a monster high school season.
#7. Alec Squires Alec Squires 6'10" | C Sioux Valley | 2024 State #280 Nation SD |6-9 PF| Sioux Valley/Pentagon Schoolers
A BIG that can rule the paint. Alec had a nice showing in AAU ball with the Schoolers. He has the potential to be a great old-school post player. Alec could be a stout defender at a high level and an efficient interior big man. Squires is a budding star when it comes to basketball. I am very excited about Alec’s potential.
#8. Kadyn Fast Kadyn Fast 6'1" | PG De Smet | 2024 State SD |6’1 SG| De Smet/Pentagon Schoolers
A very quick and fast guard. Opposing teams struggle to keep Kaden in front. Fast is a gritty and tough kid on the defensive end. He is very effective at slashing and finishing at the cup. Fast opened eyes this summer with the Schoolers. Keep tabs on Fast as he is a talented basketball player and a leader on the court.
#9. Rhett Kloth Rhett Kloth 6'9" | C Dell Rapids | 2024 State SD |6-9 PF| Garrettson/SD Netowrk
His length and size are valuable assets. Rhett gets up and down the court in a hurry. He moves very well for his size. Kloth has the ability to be a beast inside when it comes to putting up points. He also has the potential to be a lockdown post defender and great shot-challenger. Expect great things in Garrettson from Rhett once the basketball season gets here.
#10. Lane Tvedt Lane Tvedt 6'0" | PG Castlewood | 2024 State SD |6’1 CG| Castlewood/SD Attack
Another great athlete that hooped with SD Attack. Lane can shoot it well with a soft and quick release. He is electric in transition who flys up and down the court. Tvedt can flat-out score and take over a game when he gets going. His athleticism makes him a potential lockdown defender. Look for the kid from Castwood to be impressive in the high school hoops season.
