Jy’air Harris 6’2 B3 Athletics: A powerful guard who used his strength and athleticism to dominate games. In a Platinum Division victory, he had 21 points, topped 10 rebounds and blocked three shots. He had several tough takes to the basket and finished through the contact consistently. He’s an excellent rebounder who plays way bigger than his actual size.
Nikola Abusara 6’5 Full Package 2023-1: A very skilled and versatile wing player who played the multi-tasker role very well. He spent a lot of time playing point guard and facilitating offense. He is also a good perimeter shooter who can create a bucket. He used his height to rebound effectively and his length on the defensive end.
Jackson Reynolds 6’0 Top 1 2023: The young guard from Michigan was one of the hottest shooters I watched during the day. In an evening game, he scored 34 points and hit eight 3-pointers. He mixed them up as he hit 3-pointers off the catch, off the dribble and in transition. He was on fire.
Ladarius Wallace 5’8 Southern Indiana Blaze: A young lefty point guard who was a problem with his speed and quickness. He topped 20 points in both games on Saturday. He could blow by defenders with his speed or create the space to hit the 3-pointer. He was also a ball hawk on defense who applied excellent ball pressure.
Stone Edwards 6’4 CBB: A smooth lefty wing who scored 21 points in his team’s Platinum Division game. He has a herky-jerky style that keeps opposing defenders off balance and he always gets to where he wants to gi. His pull up jumper was effective and he drained a couple of 3-pointers.
Cole Heller 6’5 Mid-Mo Elite: A solid young forward who scored 17 points in an early morning victory. He’s very active in the post as he’s constantly working for position. He also finishes with a nice shooting touch inside. His passing skills are also very good, whether it’s big to big or a kick out to an open shooter.
Morning Dual
There was a tremendous individual scoring showdown in the morning between Ryan Cohen of Man Up Basketball and Javion Bostic of Cincy Fire Elite. They combined for 70 points and 12 made 3-pointers as Man Up came away with an 84-80 win.
The 6’2 Cohen finished the game with 38 points and six 3-pointers while the 6’0 Bostic matched those six triples en route to scoring 32 points. It was quite a show from these two talented guards.
