Alexander isn’t the only top-notch point man added to the class. Here are some other point guards who joined the rankings:
101 Burk Springer Burk Springer 5'8" | PG SSA Hoops Elite | 2022 State KS , 5-foot-8 point guard, SSA Hoops Elite, Wamego HS:
Springer ran with some really great shooters last year, so he focused on all the other things a point man can contribute, distributing the ball, pushing the tempo and locking down on opposing ball handlers. He earned 4A honorable mention by dealing out 4.4 assists and nabbing 1.9 steals per game. Springer produced nearly 10 points per game last year, and will be back to lead the show at Wamego this year.
138 Anders Dewey Anders Dewey 5'10" | PG Plainville | 2022 State KS , 5-foot-10 point guard, Western Kansas Elite, Plainville HS:
Dewey impressed as a versatile guard for WKE this summer, running the offense against top-flight competition, taking care of the ball and defending at a high level. He multi-sport athlete has the physical tools to play at a high tempo, compete in the lane, and get to the goal. He’s also a fine shooter. He was a proficient distributor last year, racking up 3.5 assists, while also averaging 11 points and 5 rebounds per game.
139 Sage Koelsch Sage Koelsch 6'0" | PG Great Bend | 2022 State KS , 5-foot-11 point guard, Western Kansas Elite, Great Bend HS:
Koelsch teamed with Dewey at times this summer, giving WKE two versatile and athletic men to handle the ball and run the offense. Koelsch attacks a defense, gets into the lane and makes plays. He has a confident pull-up jumper and knows when to kick the ball out to shooters. Koelsch is a hard-nosed player who provides rock-solid leadership.
140 Terique Suwareh Terique Suwareh 6'0" | PG Olathe West | 2022 State KS , 6-foot point guard, KC Spurs, Olathe West HS:
Suwareh showed on the summer circuit that he can lead at a high level, running the show for a very talented Spurs team. He is a steady ball handler who doesn’t get sped up. He has the physical frame and strength to hold up under attack and bully a smaller guard. He can push the ball and create opportunities in transition without letting things feel frantic. His physical strength and size plays well at the defensive end too.
