With the big championship on the line, these 17U guys fought hard for their teams and worked to give themselves the best opportunity to walk home with a new piece of hardware. And while there was a boatload of incredible talent all weekend long, these are the 17U guys who really were able to get it done and make the All-Tournament teams!
17U All-Tournament 1st Team
Wesley Roberson of Auburn Raptors. Roberson was able to get the ball in the basket and do the little things for the Raptors all weekend. Considering his Raptors ended up taking home the 17U Platinum championship, Roberson deserves a spot here! He’s an effective scorer and had a huge game winning block to send Auburn to the championship game.
Ahmed Soumaharo of Quiet Storm. Quiet Storm had a fantastic tournament, making it to the Final Four in a loaded Platinum Championship bracket. The 6’2″ shooting guard is smooth as butter of offense and adds a much needed punch for his team on the defensive end.
Ahman Greenidge of North Florida United. Greenidge helped lead a very balanced North Florida Elite team all the way to the championship game, where they fell to the Auburn Raptors. Greenidge’s incredible size and strength for his position made it easy for him to find buckets on the inside. He could guard 1-5 and was a fantastic on-ball defender all weekend.
Franklin Almonte of Rome Elite. Almonte is a Dalton State commit who could light up the scoreboard at any moment with his electric offensive bag. Rome Elite made it to the Final Four before losing to North Florida Elite.
Thomas Mandell of Sandhills Machine. Mandell was a big name for Sandhills as they captured the Gold Championship title for the 17U division. Mandell had 18 big points in the championship game and has a smooth outside shot that is very reliable.
17U All-Tournament 2nd Team
Yvens Paul of 4 The Love. Paul is a great shot blocker and defensive anchor for a highly successful 4TL team this weekend. He’s lanky and can contest shots with ease, racking up 9 blocks in one game this weekend.
Machli Fleurissaint of Palm Beach Flames. Fleurissaint couldn’t miss from distance all weekend. He’s a huge reason that the Flames reached the Elite 8.
Parker Axam of COD Elite. He was COD’s most consistent scorer all weekend and was the motor behind their Elite 8 performance.
Aaron Barton of Blacktop Basketball. Coming off a rough 0-4 weekend at the Proving Grounds, Barton showed out with multiple 20-point games to lead Blacktop to the championship game in the Gold Bracket. He’s a strong guard who can get a bucket from seemingly anywhere on the floor.
Caleb Paige of Auburn Raptors. Paige was a reliable second option and a great defender all weekend. With the Raptors winning the championship, Paige definitely turned heads with his high-level play all weekend.
