PH Hustle Region Finals: All Tournament Third Team

<p>The Hustle Region Finals had a number of standouts, so much so that we were able to create THREE all-tournament teams. </p> <p>The third team features several very talented underclassmen prospects and two prospects from the team that looked to be one of the early 17u favorites.</p> <h2>PH Hustle Region Finals: All Tournament Third Team</h2> <h3>Adonis LaFluer, 6-2 2024 G, Chosen Few 2023</h3> <p><a href="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/ph/uploads/2021/08/IMG_0170-crop-1613x1059-1628036814.jpg"><img class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-1257957" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/ph/uploads/2021/08/IMG_0170-crop-1613x1059-1628036814-300x197.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="197" /></a></p> <p>LaFluer had one of the hottest runs in the tournament, scoring 22 points in 7 minutes in the title game vs Roots Academy, turning what was a blowout into the best game of the weekend. LaFluer has a quick release and has a very quick first step off the wing, which he used to score in the paint and create for his teammates. In one of the best individual plays I saw this weekend, he drove off the right wing, and delivered a pinpoint bounce pass to a cutting [player_tooltip player_id="1129386" first="Pharaoh" last="Compton"] who threw down a baseline dunk through contact. </p> <h3>Jake Hall, 6-2 2025 G, Multilevel 16u Select </h3> <p><a href="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/ph/uploads/2021/08/IMG_0146-1-crop-1724x1132-1628036739.jpg"><img class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-1257955" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/ph/uploads/2021/08/IMG_0146-1-crop-1724x1132-1628036739-300x197.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="197" /></a></p> <p>Hall is the youngest member of the all-tournament teams, and for good reason. Hall is a very advanced scoring guard prospect who can hit shots from well beyond the college three, but also can attack closeouts and finish in traffic with a nice finishing package. The next area of his development will be consistent effort on the defensive end, where he shows flashes of being a solid on-ball and helpside defender.</p> <h3>Sidney Wooten, 6-1 2022 G, AZ Select Showtime</h3> <p><a href="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/ph/uploads/2021/08/IMG_0126-1-crop-1613x1059-1628036672.jpg"><img class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-1257953" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/ph/uploads/2021/08/IMG_0126-1-crop-1613x1059-1628036672-300x197.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="197" /></a></p> <p>Arizona Select Showtime looked like one of the tournament favorites early, and Wooten was the primary catalyst. A wiry slasher, Wooten lived in the paint and finished in traffic with either hand. He also made some solid reads off of those drives for open shots on the perimeter for teammates. Defensively, he has the tools to be a lockdown perimeter defender. Capable of knocking down short-range jumpers, Wooten’s next step will be expanding his shooting range to the college three. </p> <h3>Chase Mayo Harmon,6-4 2022 G, AZ Select Showtime</h3> <p><a href="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/ph/uploads/2021/08/IMG_0125-1-crop-1977x1298-1628036609.jpg"><img class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-1257950" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/ph/uploads/2021/08/IMG_0125-1-crop-1977x1298-1628036609-300x197.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="197" /></a></p> <p>A long, athletic wing who can score it from all three levels, Harmon makes his team better with his motor, which was one of the best on hand. He plays hard every possession, crashes the glass on both ends, defends the other team’s top perimeter player and is an unselfish passer in the halfcourt. </p> <h3>Myles Damon, 6-1 2023 G, Team Fuego</h3> <p>His uncanny resemblance to Russell Westbrook aside, Damon was one of the more complete guard prospects on hand in either division. The lefty has a unique blend of athleticism, a tremendous motor and a very high passing IQ. In the first five minutes of his game against Multilevel, Damon made five of the highest level reads off dribble penetration and the pick and roll that I saw all weekend. The lefty finishes through contact and can knock down runners, floaters and midrange jumpers, and doesn’t force offense. The lefty threw down highlight slam dunks all weekend, but most impressively, he did it through contact. He has the strength and bounce to absorb contact and continue through to the rim. He also showed flashes of some straight line drives in the halfcourt to get into the paint and finish. But Compton’s game and feel is still raw, but as he adds to his toolbox, he is a very intriguing prospect with a high ceiling due to his length and athleticism. </p>
