Players got to really shine with more on court minutes with their clubs and some guys really burst on to the scene over the summer. We will highlight the 2024 group with a first and second team all riser of the summer hoops session.
(5 Per Team)
1st Team
G- Spencer Coup, 5’10, Solomon, SSA Elite 2024 Black: Played more off the ball this summer and elevated his stock as a catch and shoot guy who can attack closeouts well off the bounce. Had some really solid games this summer scoring the ball from the perimeter and was able to show off his toughness on the defensive end. Hit some big time shots in big games including a bomb from 3 at the buzzer to win a game.
G- Kale Staats, 6’1, St Thomas Aquinas, Run GMC: Solidified himself as one of the premier defenders on the perimeter in the class of 2024 with his play this summer. Also really aggressive with the ball and can attack defenses. Is really tough on the floor on both ends and has a chance to really help elevate Aquinas this season. Brings an all around game to the table that any club would want in order to win ball games.
G- Emilio Zundt, 5’7, Garden City, Next Generation Kings: Getting recognition from other Prep Hoops States will help get ya on the stock risers team. Zundt’s scoring ability really stood out even with his smaller frame. Gets downhill off the bounce, gets into defenders with his body, and finishes well. He takes care of the ball, controls tempo, and gets his teammates involved as well. Could be a big time piece to Garden City next season.
G- Brady Beckman, Atwood, WKE 15U Blue: Really good off ball guard who moves well and gets to open spots and makes opponents pay. Made an All Tournament Team in Denver this summer on the Prep Hoops Circuit with his off ball movement, shot making ability, and attacking off closeouts. Solid all around player.
F- BJ Canady, 6’5, Topeka High, Run GMC: The big fella produced some solid games this summer, using his body and finishing ability well. Defends really solid for his size because of his unique athletic ability on the floor. Has the potential to really be a dominant force in the Centennial this season. Great with wither hand, moves well, and finishes.
