School has started so the list of transfers should be coming to an end. The shifting around would have Kevin Durant impressed.
With that being said, what prospects should benefit the most from all these moves?
Let’s look into my picks…
Alexander Lloyd – Westminster Academy
The addition of 2022 Rickey Ballard Rickey Ballard 6'6" | CG Westminster | 2022 State FL opens up this lineup. Therefore, I think 2025 Alexander Lloyd will make an instant impact. Lloyd is 6-foot-4 and quick. He already has a great handle and can dribble penetrate. Passing lanes should be aplenty with Ballard slashing his way to the wing and Lloyd executing in the halfcourt. Moreover, he has a playmaker in shooting guard Aidan Abell Aidan Abell 6'6" | SG Westminster Academy | 2022 State FL and a force in the paint in 2023 Jalen Carey. Everything I’ve heard is this kid is big-time. He might even teach the older kids a thing or two.
Carl Cherenfant Carl Cherenfant 6'4" | CG Ft. Lauderdale Calvary Christian | 2023 State #68 Nation FL – Calvary Christian
I think this is a two-fold argument. Cherenfant is already a great player and only improved this summer. That’s a scary thought for anyone he faces this fall. I would debate Cherenfant had the best AAU season of any prospect in South Florida. You then bring in 2022 Brenan Lorient from Forest High School (Ocala). That’s another D-1 prospect in the lineup along with 2022 Taylor Hendricks Taylor Hendricks 6'9" | PF Calvary Christian (FL) | 2022 State #124 Nation FL , 2022 Greg Glenn, and 2023 Marvel Allen Marvel Allen 6'4" | SG Ft. Lauderdale Calvary Christian | 2023 State #46 Nation FL . Lorient is an athletic player Cherenfant can create with. At 6-8, 205 pounds, he can move and finish around the rim. Cherenfant has a multitude of options while having the ability to score on his own.
Justin Abson Justin Abson 6'9" | PF North Broward Prep | 2022 State #230 Nation FL – North Broward Prep
Similar to Cherenfant, 2022 Justin Abson Justin Abson 6'9" | PF North Broward Prep | 2022 State #230 Nation FL had a big summer with team Nightrydas Elite. The 6-foot-9, 235-pound power forward demonstrated his two-way dominance and college offers have poured in as a result. Now, joining him this fall will be swingman Adren Roberts Adren Roberts 6'5" | SG Somerset Canyons | 2022 State FL . The 6-foot-5 shooting guard/small forward can score off the dribble and finish at the rim. His versatility should create open looks for Abson and company around the paint. It’s pretty much a done deal if Abson gets the ball inside ten feet. On defense, Roberts has a long wingspan (6’11) to join him and 2023 Guilherme Tesch Guilherme Tesch 6'8" | SF North Broward Prep | 2023 FL . That is a lot of length to deal with. How is an opponent going to develop a consistent rythm on offense? Abson was already a double-figure machine with rebounds and blocks shots with an attitude.
Warner Davis Warner Davis 6'1" | CG Miami Palmetto | 2022 State FL – Miami Palmetto
I was a fan of 2022 Warner Davis Warner Davis 6'1" | CG Miami Palmetto | 2022 State FL before Palmetto brought in Jimel Lane and Braylon Burbridge Braylon Burbridge 6'2" | PG Miami Palmetto | 2024 State FL . The 6-foot-1 guard can score in a hurry from anywhere on the floor, especially the perimeter. I can only imagine the looks he will get with the athleticism of Lane to create and the dribble penetration ability of Burbridge. Don’t be surprised when Davis has five 3-pointers and 25 points midway through the third quarter of a game. He is going to put up points this season.
