Ethan Dunn Ethan Dunn 6'10" | C Elevation Prep | 2022 IN 6-11 2022 East Lansing Biggest player in the camp stood out for more than just his size. Exhibited a high skill level as well. Displayed an excellent mid range jumper with high release point. When combined with height his shot is virtually impossible to block. Good footwork and agility make him a very switchable defender in space. Long arms also help him guard effectively away from the basket. Excellent academic profile and appears to be very coachable. Already holds an offer from Ferris. The Bulldogs have had a lot of recent success with similar post prospects. Dunn could be next on the list.
Charles Turner Charles Turner 6'5" | CG University Of Detroit Jesuit And Academy | 2022 State MI 6-6 2022 UD Jesuit (pictured at top of article) One of my favorite players from the spring/summer AAU scene kept it going in Big Rapids. In my opinion simply a next level all around scorer. Has a picture perfect jump shot with highly repeatable mechanics. The mechanics are important because they allow him to get his shot off efficiently and from just about anywhere. Be it from long distance, from the mid range, and in the post. It always looks the same and usually goes in. Not just a pump. Moves very well without the basketball and has a well rounded game. With such a high skill level I was curious to see where some of the athletic measurable came in at. Not the quickest player end to end. But did post an impressive sub 10 second (9,96 seconds) lane agility score. This shows that the lateral quickness matches the eye test. Has had a good summer with REACH and could see his recruitment take off in the coming year.
Trucel Singleton Trucel Singleton 6'0" | CG Benton Harbor | 2022 State MI 6-0 2022 Benton Harbor Due to playing with one of the most high profile high school programs in the state. It feels Singleton has been around forever. Just now entering his senior season Singleton showed plenty to intrigue college coaches. He’s not very big but has the quickness and disposition to make up for it. Had one of the best lane agility times at the camp (9.75 seconds). Showed competitiveness by often besting Ethan Dunn Ethan Dunn 6'10" | C Elevation Prep | 2022 IN (see above) in individual rebounding drills. While I have always been impressed with his shot making ability. Showed good court vision and improved passing in the scrimmages. If he can develop into a true point guard he could really pop somewhere at the next level. The scoring, speed, and big game experience are already there.
Jorden Brooks Jorden Brooks 6'3" | SF Grand Rapids Catholic Central | 2022 State MI 6-2 2022 Grand Rapids Catholic Central Like Singleton plays at high exposure program so this name should not be a new one. Brooks is a really effective throw back scorer. I say throw back because he really seems to excel in that forgotten area known as the mid range. But he is also a good three point shooter that you can’t give much space too. If he gets ran off the line uses his powerfully built frame to drive hard to the basket. Also a very unselfish player who is good at finding open shots for teammates even though he is not a point guard. Already has a state championship on his resume. If continues to play like he did at Ferris he could see his recruitment start to pick up.
Gryphon Mayes Gryphon Mayes 6'6" | PF Pinckney | 2022 State MI 6-6 2022 Pinckney Super long and lanky forward had an excellent all around day. Long legs make him explosive in the open court gave him one the faster 3/4 court sprint times (3.68 seconds) in the camp regardless of his position. The physical dimensions and high motor give him a lot of defensive upside. Offensively is a good outside shooter. Also showed a quick first step to combat defenders closing out on him quickly. Going forward will need to add some weight to his skinny frame. While he is explosive end-to-end. He could improve his lateral quickness. Both these these things will help him as a post defender which he might need to get to next level.
