They improved, impressed, and they had fun throughout the spring/summer. These boys should come into the fall with a renewed sense of confidence. Expect big things from these prospects when it gets to the high school basketball season. It would be fun if this team can stick together next year, they would be a scary group!
Comments from Coach Kyle Cummings:
“Overall, I viewed our season as a success! We went 31 – 7 winning several tournaments. The boys progressed immensely as both teammates and individuals. We saw success early winning our first tournament in St. Cloud but got better each tournament. It was nice to see the boys start to share the ball more and make the extra pass later in the AAU season. This was a special group for the ECI program as they were smart, played up to the level of competition, and executed out of time outs down the stretch in many games to come out on top.”
Roster
Jeremiah Sem Jeremiah Sem 6'3" | SG Fargo North | 2024 State #303 Nation ND (2024) |6-1 G| Fargo North – Jeremiah improved this season as a teammate and leader. Jeremiah has the skill and athleticism to be a very special player, but what was most memorable about him was when we were losing down in Atlanta he stepped up vocally and rallied his teammates to go on several big runs to win games down the stretch.
Carter Zeller Carter Zeller 6'6" | PF Fargo North | 2024 State ND (2024) |6-5 G| Fargo North – Carter was steady for us all season. He was our most consistent player and we knew what we would get from him day in, and day out. He improved his outside shooting and the most memorable part about Carter’s AAU season was seeing him show some emotions in big moments. Whether that was him finishing a big and one and flexing or one of his teammates hitting a big three and holding up three fingers from the bench.
Bode Hoeg Bode Hoeg 6'2" | PG Fargo North | 2024 ND (2024) |6-0 G| Fargo North – Bode improved immensely on the defensive end. Later in the season, Bode learned how to use his length to contest shots, slide with quicker guards on the perimeter. Some memories of “Big Shot Bode” include him hitting timely shots for us down the stretch of games including some “Dagger” Threes or big threes when we were down two.
Jacob Brandt Jacob Brandt 6'10" | PF Hillsboro/Central Valley | 2024 State ND (2024) |6-6 F| Hillsboro/Central Valley – This spring Jacob improved his body language and his ability to be a great teammate. Jacob was huge for the team on the bench as a hype man and used his leadership skills to constantly talk to his teammates on both ends of the floor whether he was in or out of the game. One memory that stands out for Jacob was his first in-game dunk. Jacob is a rebound first big who usually trails the play. Seeing him get out and run in transition and show off his bounce was awesome to see.
Dalton Lamp Dalton Lamp 6'1" | SG Jamestown | 2024 State ND (2024) |6-0 G| Jamestown – Dalton improved his three-point shot this season. At the beginning of the season, Dalton could slash and finish around the rim. He also had a great stop-and-pop pull-up game. Adding the three-point shot to his game will make him an all-around scorer. Some memories of Dalton are his “Bulldog” attitude towards defending. Dalton loved picking up full court and making the opposing team’s best player miserable.
Isaiah Williams Isaiah Williams 5'10" | PG Lutheran | 2024 CO (2024) |5-8 G| West Fargo Sheyenne – Isaiah’s confidence on the offensive end grew quite a bit this summer. Isaiah is another guard that can score from all three levels. Isaiah has the ability to catch and shoot from three, has a smooth mid-range pull-up, and has really nice touch on his floater in the paint over taller shot blockers. Memories of Isaiah include how coachable he is. He will make any coach happy with his eye contact, body language, and the questions he asks are next level. This kid is always thinking like a coach.
Daniel Yorke Daniel Yorke 6'1" | SG Fargo Davies | 2024 State ND (2024) |6-1 G| Fargo Davies – Daniel is what made this team go. Daniel was always pushing the tempo so this team could get out and run. Daniel has a knack for going until he can’t go anymore. He would constantly go coast to coast without being stopped and get this team an easy lay-up. One memory of Daniel is when this team had the injury bug he stepped up from a pass-first guard to one of the team’s go-to scorers.
Drew Hofstad Drew Hofstad 6'1" | SG Devils Lake | 2024 ND (2024) |6-0 G| Devils Lake – Drew was always one of the best athletes on the team. Drew used his athleticism to consistently get tips and steals on defense. Drew was one of the most unselfish players always looking to make the extra pass and get his teammates involved by driving and kicking. Drew improved this summer by learning how to stay disciplined on defense by not jumping at shot fakes and making plays off of two feet in the paint. He also improved as a catch-and-shoot three-point shooter. Interested to see how he plays this year in Devils Lake as one of their “dudes”.
Dylan Zimmerman (2024) |6-5 F| Moorhead – Dylan is as athletic as they come. Dylan has the ability to jump out of the gym. He hammered countless one-hand slams in transition and caught a ton of lobs in the half-court. Not to mention that this kid has a flamethrower! He knocked down a lot of catch and shoot threes for this squad all summer long. When he’s hot, HE IS HOT! If he can improve his handles and develop a mid-range game lookout! Some memories of Dylan include his confidence and his next shot mentality. It wasn’t a matter of if he gets hot, but when.
