Aidan Harris Aidan Harris 6'6" | SF St. Marys | 2023 State #293 Nation MD | 6’6 | St. Mary’s/DMV Stags
Harris started catching attention during last year’s shortened high school season and once AAU began, people got the confirmation they needed that he’s a legitimately skilled 6-foot-6 wing. While his explosion isn’t elite, Harris has some wiggle off the bounce that can get separation in isolation scenarios. He’s becoming more fluid with the ball as time passes and is a legit scoring threat from inside and out. He has a strong frame that absorbs contact on drives to the rim and allows him to be a consistent presence on the glass. Harris had his first opportunity to play in front of Division I coaches at the DMV Live event where he earned and offer from Quinnipiac. St. Mary’s should be the favorite in the MIAA B Conference this season with a balanced roster, but if they want to hold the hardware when it’s all said and done, they’ll go as far as Harris takes them.
Mitchell Kalu Mitchell Kalu 6'5" | PF Mt. Carmel | 2023 State MD | 6’5 | Mt. Carmel/Team Melo
I’ve been on Kalu island when I say that he’s the state’s top rebounder. Many think I’m crazy with Kalu only being 6-foot-5, but his brute strength combined with his explosive first jump makes him a walking double-double every time he steps on the floor. You can expect this to be the case this winter as well for Mt. Carmel. Kalu is the guy who hangs his hat on doing the dirty work. Collecting offensive or defensive rebounds, setting solid on-ball screens and bringing a physicality in the paint can often goes easily overlooked. While he hasn’t shown much of a consistent jumper, Kalu is an above average free-throw shooter for his position.

Amani Hansberry Amani Hansberry 6'7" | C Mount St. Joseph | 2023 State #52 Nation MD | 6’8 | Mount St. Joseph/Team Durant
Hansberry made a splash in the news cycle this summer after announcing that he would transfer from St. John’s (DC) to Mount St. Joseph. He becomes the next big in line with a coach in Pat Clatchey, who has thrived with developing bigs for the college and professional ranks. Hansberry already comes equipped with exceptional footwork and fundamentals in the post. He can kill defenses with face-up jumpers extending out to 17 feet and is a criminally underrated passer from the post. Look for Hansberry to have ample opportunities to showcase his versatility in Clatchey’s system with the ball in his hands. The combo of Hansberry and Aidan Mess Aidan Mess 6'7" | C Mount St. Joseph | 2022 State MD (2022) should result in the Gaels gaining significant advantages on the glass. Both of which have relentless motors and a knack to pursue the ball at its peak. Hansberry holds 17 offers in total. Kansas, Maryland, Georgetown, Miami and Texas A&M are just to name a few.
